Overall, how good are sbr poker players?
As a whole, I rate them 3 out of 10.

It is very easy to control the table.

In a full ring cash game, that shit is tilting upon no end. I am a 2 out of 10 there....I have lost 20 yrs on my life playing it. In the future I will be playing 50/4 style.

    What is your rating?

Pretty much as good as your standard low stakes table at any casino. So not very good. Some guys have played a decent standard of online poker - but they certainly aren't your average SBR poker player.

      hard to say really IMO.

the daily tournaments really have very little skill, and the ring games r rarely full and players usually buy in shallow.

Difficult to gauge because they aren't playing for real money. That considered, dare I say the player pool as a whole is getting better at tournaments. Cash games players as a whole still pretty weak. I've heard some of the worst logic I've ever heard on this site. There are a few sharp ring games players here. If there was consistent enough traffic here, those players could make a killing even in SBR points.

And what I meant was people that play sbr poker, not the people that frequent the poker subforum.

            that is clearly higher

I don't see the point in these "How good are SBR poker players" threads.

As Dane and DS have said and what has been repeated many times in the past, there are a number of very good players here. Sometimes they do well, sometimes they don't. Like all poker players, sometimes those "good" players on SBR play bad on off days/weeks, that just happens.

Maybe not "Ivey" quality but on any given day, a lot of the good players here can hold their own and understand all of the basics and general techniques of playing to extract value from lesser players.

Now for me, I have my opinions on certain players from what I have observed and I am sure there are a lot opinions about me. The funny thing is that I have heard polar opposite opinions on how I play. Some guys think I am a nit, some guys think I am a loose bluffing machine. Some think I am very good at poker, some think I am a total donk.

Whose to say who is correct? The key thing is that everybody that has an opinion on me has made that opinion from seeing something of my play. Would the guy that saw me "nit it up" in one game change their opinion if they saw me during the "loose/bluffing" game? Maybe, but either way it still is only a small subset and key point is that this is free SBR poker where few people play exactly the same they would in a high-stakes live game or in their home-friends tourney....

I have seen you "own" the table and I have seen the table own you. I would tend to agree that you are definitely one of the better players on this site and I will change my play based on who is at the table and how the game is flowing....

Kinda a rambling post but I think that might be a good corollary to my point, there are a heck of a lot of variables to defining a "good" poker player... (or maybe it is the pain killers I am on....)

              Cheers and Merry Christmas!

The truth is Im shitty. Before Sbr I was probably a 4 on off days and a 7 on perfect play for mid stakes. My range above also bears witness to how bad my self imposed variance was.

Sbr has 100% lowered my play. I'd guess Im a 1.5 if lucky now. They key difference I used to care. I put in zero time/effort because here it doesn't matter.
