    Poker Challenge $30-?
Hey everyone, haven't played much poker on here or been around this site as much as I was during the SBR World Cup. I kind of will be using the forum to track my own progress and have it all in one spot but anyone is welcomed to follow and I will try to keep it as up to date as I can. I saw JuniorAnalyst's challenge he was doing and it sparked me to try one of my own.

    Rules:

    1. Deposited $30 on Lock Poker. I realize it isn't much and doesn't yield much play for what I am doing but I am a little apprehensive about putting a ton on any online site right now.

    2. I will STRICTLY only be playing the heads up hyper turbos. Starting at the 3.40+.10 level. At no point am I to move down unless I have less then a single buy in for the game. I am going to stick at the 3.40+.10 for awhile. I haven't figured out when I want to move up to the 7.50's yet but since I am so under rolled it will be awhile, I will worry about that when I get closer...or if I get closer.

    3. My goal is to try and play about 50 a day or close to 350 a week. I will post my win/loss record along with profit at the end of my play daily. At no point are those numbers set in stone. I would like to get in at least that many but we will see how today goes and what I am able to do.

    4. I don't know exactly how much rake back I get but that will be included towards winnings.

    5. This could end up being a short lived thing but hopefully this can turn into a great thread. I am so under rolled this may not last past today but who knows lol Here goes nothing!

    Good luck bud.

I am trying to build up $10 free from Partypoker! Playing mostly 0.05/0.10/NL and a couple of small tourneys.

I am up to $52 but it has been up and down like a toilet seat so no guarantees!

It is really tough trying to build up a bankroll with just a few buy ins. Poker has enough variance as it is, along with the fact that these hyper turbo heads up games have probably the worst amount of variance of all the games. Start with 500 and blinds go up every 2 mins. Not going as well as I wanted through the first 25 games but hoping to close strong and give myself a bit of maneuver room by the end of the day!

Things seem to be going smoothly so far. Variance in these are a bitch but seem to get a 2 to 1 chip lead or better in enough games to where they need to win 2-3 40/60 spots or hopefully worse to win. Most of them seem to adjust their games poorly. Very few people call off correctly in spots or ship correctly in spots.

With these being as high variance as they are, and the next hyper turbo heads up level being $6.85+.15 how many buy ins would everyone say is acceptable till I move up? I obviously started off extremely under rolled. Don't want to be extremely under rolled for the next level.

Sorry to bother anyone with this and maybe I am being dyslexic right now but is there a way to edit posts after u have already edited them once? I only see a reply or reply with quote on my bankroll little spreadsheet I am keeping. I didn't want to have to post a new update every time I did it. I thought it would look better if it was all in one place also.

What do you think you should have started with for that level to not be under rolled? I'd say double that amount before moving up.

I'm guessing a reliable $150 per week is likely a good result for someone who deposits 30 bucks? Maybe you are better off concentrating on exploiting your advantage at that level than moving up to face a better class of player just yet...

I think to feel comfortable moving up to the $6.85+.15 I'd like to have between 50-75 buys ins for it. It is tough starting with only $30 because I began that way under rolled as it was. I think because it is such a small level I would have liked $100 to start. Somewhere around 30 buy ins. I guess it comes down to how big of a jump the game will be from the the 3.50's to the 7.00's. I think I am far away from having to worry about that jump but just wondered how many buy ins everyone thought would be proper for something that is as high variance as the hyper turbos are. Normally I think I'd want 100 buy ins but since this is a bit more boom or bust of a mentality 50-75 seemed more proper. I may not continue to win at the 3.50's anyway. ONly 3 days worth of sample size is definitely not enough to take to the bank. The game is soft though....Whether I continue to win is another story. Hopefully variance doesn't bite me in the ass.

Thanks for the answer also Rudy. I figured it was something like that.

how is this compared to 5dimes? when i played heads up on 5D i felt like i always playing against bots. like they'd call the stupidest hands and win on the river. Do you feel like you ever been taken on this website? i'd like to give it a go with something similar to what your doing but i wanna make sure nothing fishy is going on.

I deposited once on 5 dimes and ur assumption of playing against bots was the exact one I had, or even set up situations. Losing sometimes I guess can make you feel like you have been had but something wasn't right IMO. Lock to me feels like the most trustworthy site I have ever played on. I deposited once about a year ago. When I got to the point where I wanted to cash out it was one of the easiest cash outs I had ever had.I had my check in the mail in about 1 week. I am really enjoying playing on their site again. There hasn't been a single person I have played in the hyper turbo hu games where i felt like it was a bot. I always thought full tilt had an issue with their river because more often then it ever should fishy things happened but on this site things seem to hold about what they should. I would definitely recommend it if you feel like giving it another go!

what is your name on lock? lol i wanna make sure im not playing against you.
ive played heads up 3.50 and ive been getting killed. i think like 10-19 or something like that. heads up is just not my game.
i played the 7$ dbl up 6 max and have cashed 3 of 3. so im probably gonna stick to that.

I am not sadly. I usually don't play them in one continuous session so it is a bit all over the place in time. I play 3 games at a time on avg though so it isn't taking that long to run through all of them. Your average game takes maybe 6 mins per game? Possibly quicker then that even. It probably takes me an 1 1/2 hours to run thru them just because I wait for all 3 games to end before adding 3 more. I may start just adding the new one as soon as one ends and always have 3 running. Bad day so far today. Looking like It is going to be my 1st losing day.
