NHL ponders 2 teams in Toronto
Wouldn't that be miserable for fans in Quebec City and Winnipeg, losing their teams only to see two teams in one city.

NHL governors are talking informally about placing a second hockey team in Toronto alongside the Maple Leafs, according to a report in Tuesday's edition of the Globe and Mail.

Nicky will soon be here to tell us his opinion, he still believes Montreal is the centre of the hockey universe.

Toronto could EASILY support two NHL teams, it's just not going to happen.
The Leafs would never agree to it.

Yeah, there'd be major resistance by the Laffs.

No city should have two teams, whatever sport, far as I'm concerned - share the wealth and more people will be happier.

Small markets have difficulty supporting any pro team. Would be nice if every city was a cash cow like Toronto.

As much as I hate to admit it (being from Ottawa it's natural), Hogtown could support two teams.

Without the Nordiques around, the only good thing about a trip to Quebec City is this guy.

The only good thing about being in Quebec City is that New Brunswick is not too far away by car.

Low blow. The Maritimes are never mentioned for anything worthwhile other than fishing. A comment like that could get you put on restricted user duty.

                    I'm getting used to it.

Practically everything I say gets me a "cool down period" ie restricted to reading, not posting.

Apparently my posts are often considered racist or pornographic by the mods.

A penis being gripped tightly by two pipe wrenches is not what I'd consider "pornographic".
Saying that I find some of the Jews here annoying is not racist.

This would be fun. Then we could see two Toronto teams fail year after year. I like it.

You are lucky to still have a team in Pittsburgh.
                        It was that close.

I hope you enjoyed the Penguins run last year, I seriously doubt they go anywhere this season.
No finals for the Pens this year. Misery loves company.

Well they are going to be here for a long time, have two of the best players in the world, and have one of the best rosters in the league. I got no complaints.

But at least you can hang your hat on Nik Antropov.

I have no illusions about the Leafs chances for the foreseeable future, I'm very realistic about them.

You're quite high on the Pens, its understandable but they still aren't mature enough to win the Stanley Cup, recent history shows that the runner up in last seasons Cup finals tends to do poorly the next season, I believe this will be true for the Penguins.

I'm just firing back for your shot at Toronto, but the more I think about it, I understand, after all it is Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh has the better NHL team at the moment, but there really is no comparison between our two cities that favours Pittsburgh - "the armpit of America".

I have nothing bad to say about Ottawa.

I've made some nice $cores on the Senators the last few years, I cannot hate them, there is only one Canadian team I don't cheer for, they reside an hour or so east of Ottawa.

Quebec is a cancer/parasite on Canada, I love to cheer against anything Quebec.

                                        Ah yes, the frenchie side.

Bet against the Sens this year. They're a middle-of-the-pack team at best.

I'm very aware of this, they would improve if they had a goaltender, I saw the loss to the Bruins the other day, Sens looked flat, Boston looking very good so far.

Ottawa tends to be heavily favoured. With the way they are playing I'll avoid them til I see some improvement.

I'm looking forward to Wednesday night, loving the Sharks over Philly, Flyers were completely outplayed/outclassed in San Jose the other night, looking for more of the same tomorrow, I'm getting in early on San Jose -130.

                                            Sens are overpriced.

They're going to split up the top line of Alfie, Heatley and Spezza.

Flyers are the only team without a win. They'll give it their all tomorrow. I wouldn't bet against them in this spot.

Flyers are the only team without a win. They'll give it their all tomorrow. I wouldn't bet against them in this spot.
I hate the "they're due" angle early in the season.
I watched every second of the game in San Jose the other night, Philly totally overmatched.

I doubt being at home will change anything, I've been wrong before, but I still like the Sharks Wednesday, my only play for the day.

It's not that they're "due". It's not the same as a 5 game losing streak. Their win column shows 0. At home searching for their first win. Motivation has to be factored in. Pinnacle has Sharks -125. Fair value would be -110 to -115.
