down near the goalline they would be unstoppable. pay them 400k a year and they can play in the redzone and also block kicks

For some reason, if you're over 7 feet tall, you're slow as shit.

I would love to see Omar Asik on the Knicks. Trade him for Bill Walker straight up.

i was wondering why no team would employ the tallest man in the world, or the guy who could leap the highest to block kicks. just have a 7'8 guy put his hands up and jump hope for the best.

F- Off! He anchored the Bulls Defense in the playoffs! Especially when Boozer got exposed and Noah couldnt keep his composure.

guys that approach 8 feet have bad knees. they wouldnt be able to play. but guys like yao ming are proven athletes who can actually move and jump. you really could just lob it to yao and he probably catch it

because tall guys go to the nba. could you imagine guarding a 7 foot dwight howard on the goal line with a 40 inch vertical leap. it would be unstoppable. he's stronger than all defensive backs in nfl as well.

Because they are slow, uncoordinated, already can't catch a basketball let alone a football. Yao Ming would break into a million pieces after he got hit.
It's not that hard to cover someone taller than you.
Because a nobody like Kenny Gregory @6'3 1/2 will outreach whatever 7'4 monkey you put in there.

Unfortunately there are no 7 footers with a 40 inch vertical.

Because of leverage. Imagine Clay Matthews given complete access to the hips of the guy across the line from him. You'd need to change QB's every time you got into the red zone.

Wilt Chamberlain had a vertical well over 40, but Howard is almost 7 foot

dwight howard would be even better than yao. dwight would probably be good during the entire game. if dwight howard was banned from NBA and he had a year of football training he would be unreal

ya thats true he would run like a 4.48 (maybe better) and just be an absolute beast. would he have larry fitzgerald hands or roy williams hands.............hmmm............cause there are so many good athletes in NCAAF but only so many who have nfl skills
NFL refs won't give Lebron the calls he gets in the NBA. He would probably get frustrated by the physicality and crumble.

Pretty much. The NBA has guys like Dirk Nowitzki, Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett etc... who are 7-footers and athletic as hell, but you're talking about some of the elite worlds elite athletes. 99.9% of seven-footers are very slow, very uncoordinated, or both.

You probably believe all those 40 yard times in the nfl too.......
Howard's vertical is not 40 and neither is Wilt's as athletic as he was.
All the numbers are exaggerated.
He did a 30.5" standing and 35.5" running vertical at the combine....yeah you'll say he improved since then....bs..maybe an inch or two.
There are very few TRUE 40 inch verticals in the NBA.

I think Wilt was over 40 Howard maybe not quite but he has real long arms too. I don't think it is even possible to record the high jump numbers Wilt did without a 40+ vertical.
