he's 3rd string anyway, and if he is playing, the Jets are in serious trouble

You're obsessed with bashing Sanchez...
Sanchez is far from the worst QB in the league...

Sanchez bashers are getting really old......Guy started 1! season in college and started right out of the gates under the pressure of new york........Career playoff stats: 61% ....1155 yards.....9 td and 3 interceptions......More importantly 4 road playoff wins
Sanchez hasn't even started his 3rd season in the NFL and is only 24 years old
Unbelievable how dumb people are thinking Sanchez has come even close to reaching his prime/ potential......I really don't understand the hate this guy gets for being so young and humble
It's maddening

I'm not saying Sanchez isn't a fraud (he was putting up Jamarcus Russell-like stats for a while) but it should go without saying you can't make conclusive decisions off of preseason games.

I don't believe sanchez is near the top or bottom of starting NFL qb's but somewhere in between. Like big ben he has moments of being elite on his feet and with his arm and others that would make you question if you are watching the NFL or a high school football game...I think it's a bit early to officially status this guy as he has many playing days ahead of him...or at least he should...I think he will have to become far more consistent moving forward...

McElroy + 1st string defense = Sanchez should be the starter.
but, that guy should have caught that touchdown pass in the last seconds to win the game.

I would not doubt it
Sanchez is a 54% passer, 70 passer rating, .87 TD/INT ratio QB
He is a bottom 10 QB in the League even assuming improvement with more experience.
He has potential to Football smart on Manning's level. He also threw 71% in the brutal SEC last year and has lost 3 games since grade school.
McElroy would start over clowns Clausen and Newton at Carolina. That might be the worst QB situation in history.

that's not even the worst qb situation in carolina history. it can't get worse than vinny testaverde, jake delhomme and matt moore a few years ago....just brutal
i wonder if sanchez knows that he can't throw the ball after he's run 10 yards past the line of scrimmage....apparently mcelroy doesn't

Sanchez isn't great, but not terrible either. Average.
McElroy was playing against 2nd and 3rd string defenses.

Stats do not tell the whole story......He has been inconsistent and has had a few disastrous games which is expected of a rookie and then 2nd year QB that was 22 and 23 years old.....however he has throws, drives, plays, and games where you see why he is thought of so highly by the Jets organization
Most of all he is a winner that plays his best ball under pressure.....He had a ton of last second, come from behind wins last season and has been flat out awesome in the playoffs, even as a rookie
If he can improve his accuracy and play more consistently like he has in the playoffs every game in the regular season, he can be a really good, even great qb......And he should. By all accounts he is an extremely hard worker and studies his ass off.
There is a reason why 99% of Jets fans love the guy and all know and believe he will be something special one day.....The Jets fanbase as a whole is very bitter and will be the first to jump on a guy who isn't performing......Not the case with Sanchez
And I can't stress it enough how this is still only year 3, as a 24 year old......How were all the top QB's at this point in their careers? I bet almost none of them had 4 playoff wins under their belt

Sanchez may not be able to take the Jets all the way, but that doesn't mean a third string QB is the answer. lol

McElroy sure wasn't smart on that final play - you have to at least throw the ball in the endzone to give your guy a chance - awful decision. Sanchez is incredibly safe.

I have 5,000 points that say Sanchez will still be starting at the end of the season, barring an injury.
I also have 5,000 points that say he won't be close to the "worst QB in the league" (quote from jester), by any standard statistical measure.
