Donated many times in the past, have O+ which they needed badly and constantly call and email me to donate. Last time I went to donate they said I could not because I had been incarcerated in the past 12 months. 1st time I had even been stopped from donating and they test for diseases anyways so it was retarded. Could have saved a few people yet new restrictions causing issues and rude bank worners. Not many people donate to begin with you would think they would take what they could. I have been checked for any and all disease on many occasions and am clean, the most recent experience left a bad taste in my mouth and not sure if i will ever take my free time to go out there fill out their BS form and wait in line again after the rude manner in which they handled me last time.

I donated blood yesterday. They tossed me a pair of free tickets as a thank you.

Whole blood goes fast, so it's cool. Platelets takes about two hours, though.

I have O+ and I've donated whole blood, double red blood cell (ALYX machine), or platelets about 30 times all told.

You can get money for giving plasma though... Basically they suck blood out of you, centrifuge it and separate the plasma and pump the red blood cells back into you.

I would imagine that most people wouldn't be able to donate plasma, since just guessing the standards are tough to qualify.....

I don't think the standards are that high for plasma, but I know the standards are high for sperm donors.
You can get around 250 dollars a month for donating plasma.
I was actually thinking about doing it, but eh.
