The NBA is a business, and this is why offense is prominent in the nba. Thats why over the past 15 years david stern has changed every rule he possibly can to make playing defense nearly impossible. From the change in the defensive 3 second, to the hand check, to the forearm when guarding a player back to the basket etc.... i can go on and on. Zone defenses and double teaming off the ball is next to eliminate ball denial to a key player. This is also why offensive players get away with everything traveling, double dribbles, super extended continuation fouls. All to generate more scoring and more excitement.

Ratings would prove your theory incorrect. Spurs Vs Pistons was one of the lowest rated finals of all times. And was probably the best defensive finals match up since 1996 at the time. You can make the claim that there both small market teams but phoenix in there hayday golden state and sacramento back in 02 got much better ratings than the pistons spurs or rockets(usa based only) ever got.

I agree with others who say this is not real news. Happens with everyone. My personal pet peeve is the "palm" or carry. I saw Kobe get called for it twice this year. Worst offender I ever saw was that "white chocolate" joke, Williams was his name I think. He did it every time he had the ball. Second worst I think was Iverson.
