The amount that someone bets has no bearing on how much they are worth.
I used to train for a guy that was worth mega millions and he would bet 1000 win and place at least on most all his horses. He had a partner in another stable venture that was worth at least as much and probably more . That guy would bet around 20- 40 bucks a race.
