His slapshots had ZERO power becuase he needs to cut his stick down by about 6-8 inches.

His momma told him not to or else she would take it from him. She paid for that stick, and refuses to let him cut it

She even went as far as hiding all the saws that are in the house.

it's because there are only two seasons in Canada.

            1. Hockey Season
            2. Waiting for Hockey Season

and the waiting for hockey season (especially in August) is the toughest season by far.

Header, you just need to set up an RSS reader and load it up with hockey related RSS feeds to get you through the summer. After July 1 (free agency) it's a long tough summer . August if horrible because most writers are on vacation so there's very little hockey news/articles.

I have some sources that I rely on throughout the off season. I try to get into baseball during the off season and...just does not fill the gap at all.

Sometimes I go back and watch DVR'ed games that I have yet to watch. Save them for the summer

                        Header,
Do you tune into Canadian produced broadcasts of NHL games like CBC HNIC or TSN? No offense, but I don't know how anyone can watch an American produced hockey game like the crap that NBC or Versus puts on the air.

I wouldn't say it's crap. I think they do a good job actually.

I'm from canada and I know many ppl who can't skate but love watching hockey and have very good insight into what is going to happen. It's all about watching hockey and being able to develop insight and understanding and then mix that into stats and trends obviously. I have no doubt tho that hockey is watched more often on average then most other countries.

Shruter you need to move home.

Compared to the CBC and TSN telecasts the ones produced south of us is garbage. CBC, TSN have the best commentators by far.

US broadcasters are the main problem. They use some pretty stupid adjectives to describe the play and make things sound more exciting than they actually are They have to do this to appeal to the average Joe who isn't a hockey fan down south unfortunately.

Maybe the tards on VS. Remember most of the mare Canadians.

Kenny Daniels and Mickey Redmond are stud announcers here in Detroit.

Bobby Cole is by far the best and he has some whacked out analogies to say the least.

Deuce buddy, I have a hard time understanding that one as well. Since you and I both played major Jr. hockey (actually you played tier II in Windsor), we know how the angles work in hockey. Howie Meeker................angle on = angle off.

Sometimes yes, TSN is my favorite. Versus isn't that bad, they are getting better. And normally I don't keep the volume up on the TV when I watch the games. All depends.

For example when I see Roenicks mug on Versus I turn it off.

They use some pretty stupid adjectives to describe the play and make things sound more exciting than they actually are They have to do this to appeal to the average Joe who isn't a hockey fan down south unfortunately.
LOL They do your right. They get all hyped over a small check or a small dirty goal. And go nuts on TV

Yes I wasn't necessarily referring to nationalities of broadcasters, just that if it's an American audience they seem to try too hard to make the game exciting but using stupid words like: Swagger, monster, scratch my back with a rusty chainsaw (I believe this is the Pens guys favorite phrase Correct me if I'm wrong) etc. Bob Cole was great in his prime, he's pretty out of it these days as he's really slowed down. But he still has the most recognizable voice in the game today
