Just going to suspend exposure for awhile and let things simmer...you know simmering always makes things better...BODOG was swamped today, just got off the phone making sure my withdraw is safe and the lady said they have never been busier...

#72Last I checked, no poker sites or sportsbooks have been shut down unless the owners/ceo landed on US soil. I'm pretty certain the sportsbook people know not to visit at this point. At least the owners of the big ones know that.
Further it would be great if these people take this to court. They wont when they get offered a fine instead of 20 years, but could the feds really find a jury of 12 to convict someone for hosting poker? All the money laundering shit goes out the window if the jury doesn't think online poker is illegal.Comment -

#73There's so freaking much fail on this issue.
Guys, this isn't about gambling. It's about money laundering and bank fraud. Anyone, in any business, doing these things is going to get busted. If the sportsbooks aren't doing this crap, they don't have to worry. And they aren't.
I know most of you are panicking, but you know something? If the books really are in trouble, you're not going to get your money by asking for it now. And if they aren't, you'll still get it if you wait a few weeks. So grow a set and chill.Comment -

#74Bodog's poker room apparently is up about 20% today over last Saturday. Like I said elsewhere, this disaster for the big 3 sites is probably going to help the rest of the sites, including the sportsbooks in the long run. And how can it hurt? One last time: this isn't about gambling. It's about bank fraud. And from the looks of the indictment, it's bad. These guys are in serious trouble, much more so than Neteller, whose illegality was a matter of opinion. Here, the illegality of the actions as stated is a matter of fact. There's no precedent needing to be established, no stretch of legal interpretation. If the facts are as alleged, the defendants are ******.
Except for the run on the bank effect, this is not a sports book issue.Comment -

#78Absolutley nothing! These offshore sportsbooks are seperate from Pokerstars, Fulltilt, ect. These MAJOR Sportbooks are NOT owned and operated within the US, therefore, will NOT be affected. Also, the industry is too demanding and will never be damaged.Comment -

#85Whats so great about this poll?..Half the answers are stupid..More speculation from guys who dont have a fuken clue whats gonna happen
since when do the off shore sportsbooks advertise and operate on us soil like these clowns who went down did?
Last I checked David Carruthers got his ass busted because he was prancing around US airports
When was the last time Uncle Sam went to Gibraltar or Costa Rica to bust a sports book?
Off shore books aint fukin going nowhere....The only thing to be concerned about is whether or not funding and withdrawal methods will be hampered..and with the appetite the public has for sports gambling there will always be ways to fund
worry about picking your next winners..the books aint going no where
Ohhh fishead your my hero the sky is falling the sky is falling..None of you have a fuken clue what is gonna happen next because the magnitude of this situation is unprecedented

#98I love being told my idiots what's going to happen next. You guys didn't know the DOJ indictments were coming down, why do you know if there will repercussions for sportsbetting sites? Having said that, it's nice to find 2-3 coherent and intelligent posts in a 100-post thread (PokerJoe). At least some people have reasoned opinions.
The guys that would know anything are the guys that run this place and talk to houses for a living. Granted, they might not even know since this is a test case and the books may not even want to talk yet. But if ANYONE would know, it's them. So read what they post and wait.Comment -

#100You have no idea if the money's safe, not safe, if payouts will be delayed, etc. You have no clue. Indictments are handed down on a Friday at 1pm and on a Sunday you're telling everyone their money's gone. Don't wait for this week to see if anyone gets paid, just tell them that it's all gone to Hell.
And hit Command+B and see what happens.Comment -

#101It will be a couple of years before they mess with the books. First they have to see how smooth this poker ordeal goes. Closing down the big 3 then giving the online poker rights in USA to Caesar Entertainment or MGM. My guess those sites would offer both poker and sportsbook like Bodog. Then clean house of all the sportbooks and the degenerates would have no where else to go.Comment -
