Im here to make you money with fantasy baseball
These are a list of players that will help you win your fantasy baseball or salary cap baseball leagues. Most of these players are mid or late round selections. Thats where you win your fantasy leagues..

    SP: Shaun Marcum: Milwaukee
    Projections: 14 wins, 170 strikeouts, 3.64 era, 1.14 whip
The Brewers do face the AL East during interleague play, but that means, at worst, that Marcum would make only three starts against those offenses, as opposed to 10 (as he did last year). There's much reason to believe he can repeat -- or even exceed -- his 2010 numbers, with his ability to stay healthy the primary challenge.

    SP: Brian Matusz: Baltimore
    Projections: 14 wins, 170 strikeouts, 3.70 era, 1.27 whip
His final 11 starts, the four-pitch lefty posted a 2.18 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 52 strikeouts in 62 innings, with seven wins. During that time, he faced just one team with a record under .500 (the 80-82 Angels).

    Sp: James Mcdonald: pitt
    Projections: 30 starts, 11 wins, 170 strikeouts, 3.73 whip, 1.30 era

SP Michael Pineda: Seatle 22 year old lefty
    Games starts 17, 102 innings, 97 strikeouts, 1.19 whip,sub 3 era

    SP: Tim Stauffer: San Diego
27 starts, 11 wins, opening day starter. Worth drafting to start
    home games.

RP: Don't waste a pick on a closer early. There are plenty to go around. They also don't pitch enough total innnings to effect your era and whip. Draft a couple good sp early, then wait and draft sleeper sp and closers late.

    Rp: Chris Perez: Cleveland
    63 games, 62 innings, 32 saves, 1.16 whip

    Matt Thorton: Chicago whitesox
70 games, 27 saves, sub 3 era, awesome 1.03 whip

Ryan Madsen: with lidge hurt, madsen will get some cheap saves and during the season get some cheap wins with some phily come from behing wins.
Will post more strikeouts then innings pitched and mid 2 era

    Daniel Bard: Boston
    70 innnings, 80 strikeouts, 9 saves, 32 holds in 2010

    Evan Meek: pitt
11 saves, upside for more, 15 holds, sub 3 era

1st baseman: Not as deep in past years and alot of young
starting first baseman. You can get Justin Morneau in round 5
If you are a gambling man and would like to wait for a 1st baseman to load
up on great sp and outfielders, then draft
    1. Freddie Freeman: He will be the full time first baseman in atlanta
    2. Gabby Sanchez: can't complain with 22 hr, 93 rbi, 275 average
for someone you can get past round 12 with an upside to do even better.

    2nd base

    1. Gordon Beckham: Chicago
20 hr, 78 rbi, 280 average with an upside
Over his final 57 games, Beckham put up a .320 AVG/.386 OBP/.525 SLG stat line

    2.Neil Walker: Pitt
280 average, 20 hr, 77 rbi, 80 runs, with an upside

    3. Tsuyoshi Nishioka, Minnesota
Full time starter for the twins at 2nd in his 1st year in the united states.
projected close to 100 runs and close to 300 average. You can't complain to get that in the last 2 rounds.

3rd base: Not deep, get one early if possible
There are alot of sleepers ou can get late that are eligible at 3rd and other postions

Omar Infate for florida is eligible at 2nd, 3rd and outfield as well as juan uribe

If your team has plenty of power, draft polonco as he will bat near 300 and around 90 runs

Shortstop Also not a deep postion

Sleeper; Starlin Castro of the Cubs.
What Castro did as a rookie last season is historic; he's only the fourth player in the past 50 seasons to bat .300 in his age-20 campaign. His speed helped; his 20 infield hits were largely the reason he was able to do so despite his extreme ground-ball tendencies

    Ian Desmond of washington
We've reached a turning point in Desmond's career; is he primed for something more or might he be destined for nothing greater, perhaps settling in as a league-average regular? He's 25 years old, meaning there's plenty of time for additional growth

    Stephen drew
Drew is not the star many predicted he would be, but he's still a solid player who can contribute across the board, and he is entrenched as a starter. He should be good for a decent batting average and double-digit homers and steals again,

    Outfield
    Deep postion
If your league starts only 3 outfield, then chill with the outfield and get your infield, but if you draft on espn with 5 outfielders you will need to draft some outfield early and take some sleepers at other spots.

I look for big years from Jacoby Ellsbury, Mike Stanton, andrew mccutchen
brett gardner, adam jones, nick markakis, michael cuddyer,.

Take manny ramirez late as long as your other spots are filled.
    Jose Tabata of Pitt,

    My last draft
10 team 40 dollar buy in league. Head to head league

    4th pick
I was stunned hanley made it to me but the other 2 said they had a sleeper later so i took him . M cabrera went 2nd. Pujols 1st of course.

    1 Hanley ramirez
    2. Arod
    3. Ryan zimmerman for Middle infielder. 3rd base is already scarce.
    4. Ryan howard: no idea how he made it there,, fielder was also there. Some
braves fan took heyward before me since we draft 5 outfielders.
5 Fielder: don't ask, he made it back. Bautista, uggla, j upton, kinsler, reyes went and 4 of those teams already had a 1st baseman so i took my corner infielder
    6. Cole hamels SP for phillies: needed a
7 Mike Stanton: O for Florida
    8. Martin prado for my 2nd baseman: Don't need anymore hr. Got plenty and some
to spare. Prado will get good runs, average and around 10 sb and eligible at 3rd
    and outfield soon.
    9. Catcher Carlos Santana: Took santana because we got some taking alot of sp and closers early and plan on dumping in some categories..
Some think in head to head leagues, if they can win the categories of wins, strikeouts, era, whip, saves, and just 1 or 2 hitting categories, they can finish
7-3 every week, but your sp needs to be on.

    10. Brett Gardner: with this pick, i needed an outfielder and some stolen bases.
I can win homeruns and rbi's without making another pick.
Doing the draft as we type this. Currently in end of round 10.
I only have hamels at sp. How the rest of the draft works is up in the air. Time to draft some closers and sp.

    11. The sp i want i can wait for. I took Michael bourn. Some serious runs and stolen bases there. I should win sb every week with bourn, gardner and hanley.

    12. SP Shaun Marcum
    13. SP Clay Buchholz
    14. Adam Jones , outfielder for Baltimore. Good all around stats, nothing great but has an upside..
15.. Stephen drew: Couldnt pass it up , my infield is now fulll with my middle infelder.

    16. Closer time. Took John Axford of millwaukee. Hoff is gone. Axford time
    17. 2nd baseman or 3rd baseman backup: Neil walker. I know a couple wanted him next so i took him. In a head to head,, ill play him in 1 of 4 spots, 3rd, 2nd, ci or mi when the others teams have an off day and get good stats
    18. Huston Street: another closer
    19. Backup catcher: Miguel montero. Will be nice having a good catcher 7 days a week in my lineup.
    20. RP Craig Kimbrel: Some saves, and nice era, whip for braves
    21. SP: Brian Matusz of Baltimore
22.SP Johny Cueto of the reds
    23. sp Jordan zimmerman of washington
    24. RP; Closer Brandon lyon of houston

    My thoughts.
I should win every hitting category and with axford, lyon, kimbrel, street, I will do ok in saves and overall at sp with hamels, my closers, underated matusz, cueto, zimmerman, clay b,marcum I will do okay at sp.
Only need to go 6-4 each week to make the playoffs in a head to head league. I have no problem losing in wins, or strikeouts each week. I can easily go to free agency everyday and pickup a starting pitcher with the best matchup for spot wins.

thats how you win a league right there

This is actually a good thread for discussion about Fantasy baseball -- especially guys flying under the radar.

What do you think of Drew Storen? Will Riggelman stick with him as a closer?

FTR, get as far away from Brandon Lyon as you possibly can. A gascan.

Solid advice. Baseball is the easiest fantasy sport to win if you're prepared.

I like Marcum, but his injury status worries me a little. McDonald -- yes. Matusz -- yes. No real strong opinion on the others.

Will Thornton get all of the save opps. in Chicago? Madson should be a good option for at least two months. I like your Neil Walker and Starlin Castro analysis.

I like the Ka'aihue kid from KC. Also, Will Venable might be worth a flier from SD.

Yep -- so many under the radar guys that your average fantasy owner doesn't even know about.

Phillies manager Charlie Manuel is believed to be leaning toward Contreras as his closer while Brad Lidge is on the DL, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

I was afraid this might happen. Thanks for the update, MS.

i might trade and start walker all year long.

I do like storen , but he has struggled i spring training so far. But i think he will do just fine especially where he is going.

I think baltimore, washington and pitt will put up some goof offensive stats. Too bad stratsburg is out. These 3 teams just need a dominant 1 sp
Conteras didnt even get drafted in my last league. If i can find a spot, ill pick him up

Alvarez is my main third basemen. It just has Freese in since he plays Opening Day. He is my back up just in case. My team could be pretty badass in like 3 years. The pitching staff is 21-24 years old besides Lee and Floyd.

It's a keeper league haha, so I am rehabbing Strasburg. I didn't want to risk losing him. We keep 7 from 25. I traded to get Cliff Lee in the offseason.

Just like last year when Lidge was injured. Madson may be good for cheap wins and some holds. Best part about Contreras last year was that he qualified for both SP and RP. This is a trick for ESPN leagues, if you can get a closer that qualifies for the SP slot, you can start more closers without using up your SP games started limit

Keep an eye open on Michael Morse in Washington. Slated to bat 5th behind a potent middle of the order and led the Cactus league with 9 home runs. It might be his year to break out.

Jay Bruce breakout year and huge Fantasy year. My draft i had the 2 spot and Votto went first must have been a hometown thing so i got Pujols, by the way that has nothing to do with the Bruce break out year.
