Yeah he went to the tourney 30 times or more and won only 4. And out of the 30 times he was either 1 or 2 seed 25 times.

find another coach that has 4 National Titles in the past 25-30 years. The most overrated coach in history was Dean Smith.

No Phil Jackson is a perfect coach. He went to the finals 12 times and he has 11 rings. Now coach K need to go to the finals 7 times to win just one title.

thats gotta be a joke, get real, how many coaches win 4.
i loathe duke, but to say he hasn't accomplished as much as he could is plain silly.
lute olsen went to 25 straight tourneys and won 1 national title, and he is considered a legend by most. in your book he must be a straight chump.

Wasn't Duke's last game barely a win for them? Seems like something bad was about to happen to them..

Add Dean Smith to that list jj, with the talent he had in chapel hill he should have won more titles.

Duke has recruited the top players over and over...number one bullshit in sports is how much coaching matters, but in essence it doesn't matter that much if at all. Ok, here we go..Mike Keenan won a cup in NY with Rangers and couldn't keep a job after that. lavolette won a cup with Carolina and was fired..oh I forget to tell you.....he played 60 games in the NHL. Butler's coach looks like a 10 yr old kid=winner..lol. Bellichek lost to the guy who is 450 pounds and licks his wife's toes as his hobby..all of this coaching matters!!!! Guy from 49ers mariattui went to Detroit they still sucked. Joe Gibbs came back after yrs and his teams sucked...shall I go on..coaching is wayyyyy overrated...

64 teams > 16 teams
Put Phil on the Nets/Cavs/etc. He won't ever win a championship.

This had nothing to do with Coach K, the players just quit on him. You could see it in their body language, just pathetic.....when the going got tough this year this team folded like a cheap lawn chair!

Don't understand the Duke hatred. Coach K built an absolute nothing into a powerhouse with no rules infractions. You can't win every year with the way things go now in college hoops. Last year was arguably one of his better coaching jobs. He did another solid job this year, but the Irving injury return probably was the worst thing that happened. Chemistry totally thrown off. It was a gamble he felt necessary to win again, but the better decision might have been to keep the kid in a small role. Shit happens. Move on.

He turned the USA program around. It's gone from a failure to a powerhouse with or without the best players. If you need proof of coach K's greatness, that' it, imho.

Poor example. There is an element of luck involved in the NCAA tournament. One bad game and you go home. The NBA playoffs are 7 game series, the best team usually wins.
K is a good recruiter and his players love him but he's not much of an Xs and Os coach.
