#73if there is anywhere near the 200k hands that was mentioned earlier in the thread there will easily be that many and probably much more. people are talking about folding hurting the odds but it doesnt really make much difference. preflop everyone probably limps and then with rf draw most would c/c. the odds for a single person hitting rf are 1 in about 30k. if there are 9 people at the table then the odds are decreased much further (i guess 30k/9).
this could cripple sbr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! massive inflation coming to the sbrstore
sbr should really put a limit on the number of rfs that get the pointsComment -

#75play in all these tourneys, see around 4000 hands in all and you would probably be about a coinflip for 5k pointsComment -

I don't want to dampen your excitement but I can't imagine the odds are anywhere NEAR 30k/9.
The 30k number is for "7 randomly drawn cards" but a 9-handed table is 9 sets of 2 randomly drawn cards each combined with THE SAME SET of 5 randomly drawn cards. Each player's chance is tied to the community cards that they all share.
This puts the real probability for a given player likely somewhere between the 7-card number of 1/30k and the 5-card number of 1/600k.
For ANY player at a given table it's probably close to 1/30k hands, but then you have to account for folding like when the player has pocket cards of J3 or Q2 etc and folds pre-flop. This is where my particular guess of 1/100k-150k hands came from, and that's HANDS PER TABLE where a complete hand with 9-10 players participating counts as 1.
Let's look at it another way, could local casinos and online poker rooms afford their own such promotions if it was happening at the frequency you suggest?Comment -

#83since these tourneys are limited to few plays i think it would be cool if everyone in tourney got 1000 if someone got royal instead of 5000 to table would be about the same.Comment -

#84i've seent this happen only once in my lifetime... in perhaps 500 hours of play, avg 2-3 tables simultaniously.
can't extrapolate this (i could if i saw it 10 times in 5000 hours).
my guess is we won't see this more than once in tourney. good luck.Comment -

#85A lot of people are forgetting one of the key factors; sure on a flop you'll check it down but preflop you are raising with suited connected face cards so now you're going to need someone to call your raise. That has to lower the numbers drastically.Comment -

I'll give you 10 to 1 ---> 120 of mine for 12 of yours
I take Under 8.5 Royal Flushes That trigger the SBR jackpot (meet the requirements) in the month of February 2011.
I picked 8.5 since that's the number you stated is way too low, so should be an easy bet at 10:1.
NOTE to everyone else: I don't want to come off like a cynic I'm loving the royal flush jackpot! But let's be realistic.Comment -

#100lol i guess yall probably think im stupid but is 8.5 really that far off. ive seen 5 rfs on ps in the last month (about 25k hands). on ftp ive seen 5 in about 150k hands. so, if there is 200k hands like was said earlier, 8.5 seems about right. how many do yall think there will be?Comment -
