Feb Poker: Royal Flushes = everyone at table gets 5,000 points

Nice promotion, but I never hit royal in my life, had few straight flushes thought.

But if the winner if a table gets 20,000 points and $500, does it actually make sense to slow play if you think you have a chance to beat a guy who might be calling with a set, 9 high flush, or a straight?

Just saying, you could find yourself in a situation where 5000 points is not worth it if you have a chance to win the whole damn thing.

Odds of drawing a royal flush from the 5 community cards 1 in 649,739. Odds of drawing a 5 card royal flush from 7 randomly drawn cards 1 in 30939. It's a little tricky to work out the math on a full ring holdem game since you have 10 players combining a set of two hole cards with the 5 community cards you can (obviously!) have more than one possible combination per hand. The fact that most pocket cards will be folded before they get to "see" all 5 community cards -- I'd suspect that the number of royal flushes per full-ten-player-table-hand would be near the 1/30939 number, so guessing here maybe one Royal Flush OPPORTUNITY per appx 30k hands, times the probability that the hand goes to showdown*, what are we at, maybe one chance in 100k-150k hands would be my guess.... *But if I have a Royal Flush the probability of going to showdown is 100% you say? Aha what if your pocket cards are J hearts 4 diamonds and you fold pre-flop and the board comes out Kh Qh Ah Th 6s...you get the idea. Cool promotion, whatever the odds.

Let's say it takes 700 points to get a $50 bonus from a sportsbook.

5000 points is basically $350. If there are 9 players on the table, that's $3,150 for everyone involved. $350 is as good as a prize as if you went deep into the final tournament.

Basically, if you don't call/check down your royal you should probably get kicked off the site.

Has anyone seen a Royal Flush yet in a SBR Tournament yet? i haven't I've played a few but curious if anyone has saw or was close...

I had an A2 of hearts and the table flopped JQK of hearts. It was early in the tournament so I just put down $20 so it would be called and I would have a chance for a royal. No one else called.

If you have a royal flush i guess the key is... DONT GO ALL IN... slow play bet 20 or whatever the min bet is. I guess you are helping out everyone at the table but still getting 5K worth of points.

This can create some tricky EV calcs in the saturday champions tourney. For the cash games the EV calc is easy, always check/call down with a royal draw.

Those are the rules for any high hand bonus in any poker room.

That is absolutely false. Most of the Vegas poker rooms require a minimum amount in the pot and that's usually like $10.

It will happen.I hit one in a cash game on Bodog and 2 of the cards had to be whole cards.I say if you got to the royal flush as hole cards,go ahead and see a flop.
