Arenas spent $1M on shark pool—report
NBA star Gilbert Arenas’ tumultuous relationship with Laura Govan has made its way into the courts.
A document drafted by Govan and obtained by the Washington Post’s “Reliable Source” details Arenas’ lavish lifestyle.
The 31-year-old Govan, who has three children by Arenas and a fourth on the way, made notes about the couple’s lifestyle that were filed in Los Angeles Supererior Court, the report said.
According to the document, Arenas made $1.5 million per month and spent $100,000 on landscaping, $5,000 per month on housekeeping and $675 to wash each of his cars. The report also said Arenas spent $1 million to build a pool and grotto where he kept his pet sharks, which cost him $5,000 a month to feed.
It seems the Arenas kids (ages 2-5) had a pretty nice toy box, as well. The report said Arenas, 28, bought them a $60,000 train and an $8,000 Mercedes-Benz electric car.
Govan claims that despite all the big spending, Arenas would not part with any of his money for a nanny.
Arenas and Govan were together nine years before splitting in November.
