I love the national sales tax idea, sadly it will probably never happen.

I agree with you but you would have to get past the argument of a flat tax being regressive, because poor people spend more of the income then rich people do, for it to ever become an implemented measure.

Been on this for a while, hoping the trend of people getting pissed about government spending continues.

I have heard about tax reform could be a possible topic in the state of the union address later this month. I sure hope it happens. This would be worth looking into.

When you guys get a Value Added Tax, like we have in Europe, essentially a sales tax of about 20% or so; the Socialists of the world will rejoice because you'll have a yoke around your neck just like us...
...and it's coming fast, brother.

That comes with an income tax elimination though, right?
I'd prefer a yokeless income and yokeful spending. I have much more control over my spending than I do my income.

Ron Paul is easily the best politician alive for about 5 years yet I still have to explain to people who he is and why he's important.
When will the American sheep wake up and look at real government reform?

FVK NO!
With the the politicians you have and the debt you clowns are running up, you'll get a VAT and an Income TAX.
Ron Paul is a small voice in a wilderness.
...welcome to the jungle, baby.

It can't come soon enough. The number one thing i like about the Value Added Tax is that everyone is paying the tax which means illegals would be finally chipping in their part. Way to much tax dollars are lost on illegals in this country and they leech of the system with having their kids in public schools and going to the health departments for free care. The taxpayers can not support themselves and all the illegals anymore and you are seeing this with huge budget shortfalls by state government. And the other thing I like about the Value Added Tax is that it might actually get people to save a little money, the people that blow their check at wal-mart on payday. If they had to sit and think do i really need this and pay twenty percent tax on it they might rethink wasteful spending.
