NY Giants finish 10-6 and have to sit at home while the 7-9 Seahawks get to host a playoff game this weekend. What an awesome system!!!

keep crying, the system is correct
only change that needs to be made is that Seattle should NOT have a home game, but they deserve to make the playoffs

Would you rather have BCS bowls? They'd have to get rid of all divisions to do it any other way.

Seattle deserves to be in the playoffs?????
That's a crock of horseshit. Seattle just got beyond lucky this season. We probably won't see another 7-9 team make the playoffs for another 40 years.
The Seahawks will be in the playoffs, but they don't DESERVE it after playing 16 games.

What's sucks is better teams like the niners and chargers will be sitting at home.
While majority of these losers play it out for the super bowl.

i actually agree with sam here, they won their division but the team with the better record should host the game.
it would be interesting turn of events if seattle upsets the saints at home.
probably one the nfl does not want to see.

So it happened this time, there's nothing wrong with it. The Giants should have taken care of business instead of blowing it. Seattle took advantage of a weak division. Shit happens.

Yep, something like this doesn't happen that often. Giants shouldn't have blown it against the Eagles or get destroyed by the Packers.

What everyone fails to see is the dynamic of what a "division" really is...
You play 6 games (40%) of your games against 3 teams... In many cases at LEAST 2 of the teams in the Division are the shits... in some cases THREE of the teams are the shits... (Seattle in '05 was 13-3, with the next best being The 6-10 Rams)
Not taking from NE's 16-0... but what was everyone else's record... Buf (7-9), NYJ (4-12) Mia (1-15) ... as an example... 6 "gifts" to bump of the Cream of the crop... (or the crap)
Every year there are typically 2 Divisions with a clear 12-14 win team... and in the other 2, there are "typically" at least one other 10-11 "Divisional" winner... and a 9 or 8 win Divisional Winner...
None last year... 2 years ago San Diego (8)... 3 years ago Tampa (9)... Seattle 4 years ago (9) ..
All a .500, (.563/.438) team means under the existing system is that there is THAT Division is tight enough that the wins don't all go to one team... this year clearly the NFL West was tight enough (and shitty enough) to have No one Be THAT good... But in the end you still have to beat those Within the division... which in this case Seattle won 4 of the 6... 3 of the other 10 vs everyone else...
Look at Chicago this year... 11 wins... 5 vs the teams within their Div (4 gimmes vs Det and Minny)... and 6 elsewhere... (including the powerhouses of Buffalo, Carolina, and Dallas) ...
How about everyone's favorite team to think "deserves" to get into the playoffs... NYG... get's 3 Wins in the Division... 2 "gimmes" to Washington.. and yet, LOSE to a TERRIBLE Cowboys team, and blow a gasket to Phily in one of the greatest comebacks of the decade...
In the end... Does it make Seattle "less worthy"... Fuk no... Just makes them a Shitty team who beat up on all the other shitty teams in their division... which there is always one every year... Just because you are 16-0 doesn't make "your division" any good...
But for the record, I would agree, like in the NHL, and NBA, that team should NOT host... that's pretty clearly likely going to change after this year...

You mean the team that Beat the 11-5 Bears @ home this year right?
Who cares about the Giants this year. The better team that is sitting on the outside looking in are the Bucs.
Josh Freeman: 23 passing TDs with just 6 INTs.
Eli Manning: 31 passing TDs with 24 INTs.
The Giants don't deserve to be in the post-season this year with a crappy QB like Eli and some stupid hiccups like kicking to DeSean on the last play of the game.

Same crowd whining a few years back when the NL West was so mediocre in baseball. Suck it up ladies, the system is what it is. Want to change it every year and just have a fan poll who should make it into the playoffs?
