So Florida grabs Muschampand Applewhite. Texas East. A bad move. Texas was terrible this season. They are crap without a major star at QB. Florida is the same. This was a bad move by Florida. As far as Florida State ruling the State ofFlorida, who cares. They will never get past Va. Tech, and will go down when the NCAA get through with them. The State of Florida just took a crash dive.

This hire still won't change the fact the Gators run in the SEC is over. Meyer got out b/c he knew the cupboard was bare and there were no blue chippers coming in down the road. The Gators did have nice run though.

Dan Mullen would have been the logical hire. He has the credability with the school that would attract the top high school talent to come to Gainesville. Plus, it was his offense that made the Gators what they were. I guess he didn't want to leave Miss St or Miss St made it too sweet not to leave.

Texas was a horrible tackling team this year. Some of his glory was his great defensive teams that the last DC, the guy from Auburn who's name escapes me. Florida got a pig-n-a-poke.

He was one of the SEC's top recruiters when he was at LSU. In five season in the SEC his defense's was ranked in the top ten in the country. He will do good in florida.

I expected a much bigger splash from Florida, this is kind of a so-so hire. Hard to say what he will do having no previous head coaching experience but as a Tennessee fan I like the Vols chances to take back the SEC East in the near future.

I agree 100%.......an assistant coach desparate to be a head coach and over-rated as a defensive cordinator, and Fla desparate for a known coach quickly to keep recruits intact. I believe this spells trouble

he was also under Saban at LSU.....his defense was shit at Texas........

that's a great point. everyone on this site should see the movie "big fan".

it centers around the eagles and the giants Rivalry, but if it were made in the south it would be some college rivalry, more than likely would culminate in a fictitious sec championship showdown. you see how most everyone who's against this move has a homer perspective.

it's a fantastic movie regardless.

if he can't look like a great coach at florida I doubt he will anywhere, just look at the talent that comes out of that state its near the top and many of the recruits are underrated at that where there is so much talent in the state, was it spurrier or florida that question can still be debated (no offense to spurrier fans)
