thats actually what i was thinking!!!! they have got t o ask him since he showed interest in Miami. that would help in recruiting south florida and hell anywhere in the country. it would do huge things for the program. like The U in the 80's type of huge things!

Meyer still has health issues. After three, four years off, he will have no problem landing a bigtime coaching job because he is a very good coach.

Record as head coach: 103-23 (Florida, Utah, Bowling Green)

He's a proven winner and has shown that at three different schools.

Mullen or Strong seem to be the obvious choices, but Foley has gone outside of the box with success before. This should be really interesting to see who emerges as the front runner. One thing I think is for certain is that it will be less than a week before we know.

I dont believe all of the Denver talk. I think its more of a coincidence than anything else that the Broncos job is open at this time. Last year's SEC Championship game really put a strain on Meyer and this years 7-5 season certainly added to it. With all of his attrition to his staff with the leaving of Mullen and Strong, he was unable to fill those positions with someone as capable. It reminds me of the situation with Fulmer at UT and his inability to find an offensive coordinator post David Cutcliffe and I believe this is the same reason for Floridas struggle this year. When a team is on top, it is only natural for other schools to come calling to that team's assistants for head coaching gigs. The ability to sustain success for a long period of time is certainly difficult in major college football. Once powerhouse programs are now seeing some down years with Miami, Texas, Florida, Tennessee, Notre Dame etc. The college football world is very cyclical in this manner and these programs will eventually see better days. Dan Mullen is an excellent candidate for the head coaching position at Florida and could come in and have Florida competing for the SEC East next year. Its a very attractive job in a talent rich area of the country so there will be many candidates jumping at the chance to coach the Gators.

As far as the Broncos go, Meyer would be a disaster at the NFL level in my mind. College coaches have very limited success in the pros as is. I for one do not believe his spread offense can work against pro defenses. There are athletes all over the field in the NFL and subjecting any quarterback to numerous hits by NFL defenders through all of the QB read and option plays would more than likely land them on the IR. It is of my opinion that Urban takes a few years off and then regains the itch to coach again when another big time job opens up down the road. We all know that Notre Dame has came after Meyer hard in the past so it isnt out of the question for them to be calling if this Brian Kelly experiment doesnt work out for the Golden Domers sometime down the road.

Then again it wouldnt surprise me if he had another press conference tomorrow and mentions how God gave him another vision to coach one of the blue chip recruits they currently have committed and he's returning for another year.
