#37Can't believe so many of you are in love with Arkansas. I'll take the team with the better defense, that's OSU. OSU handled Oregon last year and they pretty much have the same team this year. They will handle Arkansas with ease, who's not in the same league as OregonComment -

Do you think the SEC's success has anything to do with the fact that half of the bowl games take place in SEC territory? How well do you think LSU, Bama, Florida, etc would do in the snow?Comment -

#42Would have loved to see an SEC team, or big 10 team for that matter, play Boise State. They would have been handled.Comment -

#43I agree, I want to see how good they really are. I think they are a really good team, but I don't think all of their gimmick plays work against legitimate teams.Comment -

They are good for a gimmick play or two, but that is by no means all they got.Comment -

#45Ohio State will cash against Arkansas and play a solid well rounded game. The Buckeyes have a solid offense and one of the best D's in the country. Mallett will get some yardage and a couple scores, but the D will fluster
him on many occasions. The Ohio State offense will gain yardage on the ground and through the air also. They will take what the Arkansas D will give them. Wisconsin will also dispose of TCU as a pretender. I hate to say that because TCU has been money all year, but Wisconsin is on a roll and is always well prepared when it comes to playing in Bowl games.Comment -

#49This is an opportunity for Tressell to get the SEC monkey off of his back. He is 0-9 versus the SEC. Arkansas is a good team, quality wins vs. LSU, South Carolina, Mississippi St and Texas A&M, and as stated above losses to two schools that were rated number 1 at the time. Another point in Arkansas favor along these lines is Ohio State beat Miami, Iowa, Illinois, Michigan, Penn State but got smoked by Wisky. I think it is clear that Arkansas had some better wins. But, Arkansas has about the fifth best defense in the SEC, and their defense is not the same as playing against the defenses of a couple years ago of LSU and Florida. In the end, I think Ohio State's defense is better than Arkansas, and OSU wins.Comment -

#53The big ten's bowl record against SEC teams over the last 10 years isn't as bad as people think, it's like 18-20. But they always lose the big games, so that's what people remember. But Ohio St is like 0-6 against the SEC the last 10 or 12 years, and most of those have been BIG games. And this is a BIG game. So why would the Buckeyes perform any differently?
You haven't really heard a lot about Arkansas this year, as they have played in not only the toughest conference in the country, but the toughest half of a conference (SEC west) and have been over shadowed by Auburn, Alabama and LSU. But they are a very very good football team.
I like Arkansas to win outright, but I'll take the +3 (and at even money right now).
other SEC vs Big Ten games:
Penn St vs Florida - PSU wins staight up. I just don't think that Florida is that great, and they have really stuggled the second half of the season. Urban Meyer's spread offense still has to prove itself in the SEC. Sure it has been successful the previous 4 years, but that was with Tebow, one of the greatest college football players ever. And those guys don't come along very often. Its basically a home game for Florida, so I'll take the points just to be safe.
Michigan State vs Alabama. WOW!! 10.5 points??? Really?? I like Alabama to win here, but 10.5 points?? Thats just too many points. Alabama wins by a FG or maybe a TD, so I'll take the Spartans and the points. Especially right now when I can get the hook. (get it now if you want Mich St, it will probably settle in at 9.5)
Michigan vs Miss St. This is a tough one. Miss St had a solid season going 8-4, with their only losses coming to Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn and LSU - 4 of the best teams in the country!!! But there is still a part of me that thinks they are frauds. Their only solid wins were against Florida, Georgia and Kentucky - who are 7-5 and 6-6 teams. So nothing to impressive there.
Then you have Michigan - the wheels have absolutely fallen off the 2nd half of the season going 1-5, so its hard to read how they'll come into this game. And I don't think that Rodriguez is that great of coach, so I don't know if the extra preparation time will make a difference.
I see this game going one of two ways - 1) Miss St figures out a way to stop Robinson and wins a close one; or 2) They don't figure out a way to stop Robinson and they get blown out. Either way I'll take Michigan and the points at +6. (get it now if you want Michigan, as the public will surely be all over Michigan, I see this coming down to 4 or 4.5 by game time)Comment -
