Thank God I still had a bet open on the Pats (I placed the rest of my bankroll on them last night out of dumb anger).

This is really lifting my spirits. Perhaps it's telling me to give it sports wagering a 2nd chance and have a better more patient strategy this time.

Nick, you have it half beat because you know you can't win. That is a huge step. Believing you can win is very dangerous. Don't listen to the guys that tell you that you can win, I know for sure that you can't. That is unless you belong to a very small 1 or 2% and even these guys don't win all the time. Think about the number of books and the expenses they pay and still make obscene profit. So who is winning? Nobody.

You got some good counsel in some replies. Pace yourself and lose slowly. Control your number of bets and amount. Stop parlays and teasers completely. And here is a bit of advise that very few people mention but I noticed during my bookie days. Most big losers have a propensity to wager big when they lose and wager small when they win. That is the exact opposite of the correct play. What you do with that strategy is perpetuate a losing streak and modify a winning streak. Don't chase money.

Hey man, just because you cant win, you dont have to discourage the guy. There a lot of US that do win in the long run. If you cant do it and you are a member since 05 im guessing you are in it for the rush. If not why would you be in here since then if you are losing. Like i said b4 smart betting, with a lot of research helps you to make smart bets for business not for pleasure. You have to put long hours into this if you want to win, im talking about job hours 8-10 a day and this doesn't even guarantee that you will make the correct pick. Most of you have a regular job so i guess its hard. and winning 55% or higher with a bankroll of 5K will you make you decent money in the long run betting 2-5%(NO MORE THAN THAT EVER) except maybe the super bowl. If you dont have the time to research the game being played then it is hard to get it right. Anybody who puts the time in this could be in the 1 or 2 % of the successful gamblers and in my book anybody who makes profit is a winner. Just remember nothing comes easy in life.

No, better I tell him to hang in there and keep betting when I know almost positively that he will lose in the long run. Good advise. Listen buddy I have been in this business probably longer than you are alive. I know you can't win. I didn't say I didn't win because I did and won large. That is when I was on the other side of the table. So, yes you can win--if you take the bets. I have seen it all. Nobody wins, almost nobody. Listening to these clowns telling me how much they win is bs. I know.

Either you're very young or very inexperienced with sports betting. The chances of winning in the long run are almost non existent. I was there my friend.

Well my friend then you must be a case where you won big and didn't manage your money well enough in the long run. I am 38 years old, and have been doing pretty good for myself the last 5 years. You can think its bull but i just look at my bank account and smile, thats for my own satisfaction and nobody else s. I am not a millionaire and don't plan on being one because you are right on one thing, this is hard and you cant win all the time but you can make enough to live off of it with a big bankroll of course IF YOU PUT IN THE TIME. Maybe you just couldnt afford a big bankroll. You dont have to believe me or the hundreds that are out there winning for years bc it doesnt matter what you think and Sorry to hear you are an old man bc if you have betting longer than i was alive then you are probably like 60 assuming you started betting around 20 years old. Too bad your days are almost over. Oh and by the way and if you are that old, you cant compare the old days to now. Thanks to technology we have every freaking stat and news and injury just one click away, Something they didnt have back then which gave a big edge to the bookies. I respect your opinion but it doesn't mean your right.

Well listen I got a proposition. If you are up over 5 years post your plays for the next year. Shut me up. If you won for the past 5 years you should be okay this next year. Prove it.

And what makes you think my days are over, I am healthy and have great genes, parents and grandparents all into their 90's. I see you're a bit of a wise guy.
Well the ball is in your court. I will wager $1000, heads up with you that you will be a loser in a one year contest. We will make the ground rules and this can be an easy 1000 for you.

Damn, so you are that old. Im sorry sir didnt mean to disrespect you. I respect old guys, you all do have the edge on experience only, not the brains though. I hope you live to 100, seriously i actually didnt think you were that old. One thing i do hope when im your age, is not be in here arguing with younger guys.lol. That would be sad. I hope not to be in any forum by that age. I have no proof, just my Bank account and the money in there would not prove i won it over betting. I dont work well under any sort of pressure and i dont bet everyday for this matter. When people are tailing my plays i panic, or on any contest. Im being honest here, but since i wont post them i guess you will win this argument Sir, but you will never know if im telling the truth. You will think you do, but thats fine with me. I wish you the best health wise and i hope you live to be a 100.

It's more fun as a hobby imo. I'd rather watch a game having some action on it, makes it more fun to watch.
