Do you pull against your hated rival or for the SEC? I just had a talk with a lifelong Bama supporter and he said, "Fuk Auburn. I hope they go to hell!" I just wondered what the rest think. vote it.

#11Lets be honest bro, you and I both know that Auburn fans hate Bama fans just the same as Bama hates Auburn. Its very mutual here. I can tell you I met some really nice Auburn fans this weekend and I also met some absolute Diks! I dont recall Auburn cheering too much the past two seasons when Bama was having their success and I know the Auburn fans were burning up the message boards everytime we have got into trouble. Its not just one sided its mutual.Comment -

#15I have been a Bama fan all my life even though my sister went to Auburn. I pull for all the SEC teams unless they are playing the Tide. I hope Auburn wins the title because it will make Saban and his coaches work harder. Alabama has the #2 rated recruiting class right now and will be loaded next year. Auburn's time in the sun is this year....they lose four senior offensive linemen and their QB so next year could be really difficult.
I agree with The Profit, keep the national title in the SEC.Comment -

#16Oh please. I don't know of one Auburn fan who pulled for Bama last year. They were the most vocal Longhorn fans for that whole month that you have ever heard. With that out of the way, let me get on my soapbox for a moment.
Cam Newton is clearly the best player in college football this year. Hands down. But this whole pay for play thing stinks to high heavens and it is stinking up the whole SEC with it. I figure Auburn will win and go ahead and stink up the past 4 National Championships the SEC has won along with theirs. The same way Barry Bonds stunk up the home run record. No difference at all. Auburn is playing with a player that was shopped to schools and only an idiot would believe that the man (he is 21 so not a child) would have a close enough relaitonship to his father to go to whatever school his dad said to go to and yet not be close enough to know what the price tag attached. And it takes a special idiot to believe that out of the blue, Daddy chose Auburn because of their senior offensive line.
Off the soap box now. The SEC is the best conference by far. But I can't pull for stinky cheaters any more than I can yell for someone from the Pac 10 who plays in a weak conference. So I think I won't watch the game and simply not give a hairy monkeys butt.Comment -

#24Wow, people are really this stupid?
You don't want your direct rivals to succeed. It's very simple. Sure, you want them to do well enough to maintain your conference's ranking as #1, but you don't want your in-state rival to do so well that it begins to hurt your ability to succeed.
Non-Bama SEC fans have some justification to root for their fellow SEC school, but anybody that says they're a diehard Bama fan and also rooting for Auburn is either a liar or a goddamn retard of the biggest kind.Comment -

#31I just don't understand how people in other parts of the country can consider the SEC "overrated" at this point. You realize we're 6-0 in BCS title games? Most wins coming by double digits even against teams like OU's "best offense ever".
17-9 in BCS games including the last 4 National Championships in a row (I think all by double digit victories) is not overrated.
When Auburn beats Oregon by 10+ (and they easily will) it still won't hit you guys that Oregon's Pac-10 schedule was mediocre and their a good team that benefitted from a down conference and easy OOC schedule.
Auburn probably has the 4th best defense in the conference and it'll be by far the best defense Oregon has seen. They have the best offensive and defensive player in college football. Probably the most imaginative and best offensive coordinator. Oregon's tempo won't catch them off guard with 4+ weeks to prepare, and Auburn running the no huddle themselves. Be prepared Ducks they have a professional QB and it shows.Comment -

Another angle with this, I would automatically be going against any team in college football with these possible sanctions and the possiblity of vacated wins. It just so happens that the team in question is Auburn and an SEC team but I cant in good conscious root for them to win.Comment -

You do realize the SEC is 6-0 in BCS games....4 straight championships (which are normally decided by the conference championship being the top 2/3 teams in the country with the loser missing out of the title....so even the loser of that game is above par to the other conferences).
Guessing you're either a Big 12 fan (2-5 record) or a Big Ten guy with the Prestige of that conference (the Ohio State) sporting a big what is it now 0-8 or 0-9 against the SEC? I lost count already.
