The one on National Geographic is set up better and I like the two main characters.

I haven't seen the "other one" but it does get me thinking about trying it locally. I wish I had at least a 2-car garage to start with.

I guess I'd need a at least a trailer for my pick-up truck, too....

It amazes me when they get something like a few thousand dollars worth of Silver coins....Why not at least take that easy stuff out before defaulting on the rent ?

Something like guns are supposed to be turned over to ATF.

How about a few kilos of coke ? Would you turn that over to the DEA ? I wouldn't ! I wouldn't know who to sell it to, either....guess I'd just have to "drive my train, high on cocaine" for a loong time ?

I used to store my weed in a storage unit like 25 years ago when I dealt pot on the side.

i'd like to hear how many units these guys buy before they find something valuable. like Doug mentioned... why wouldn't most people take out anything of value before they default?

I was thinking this same thing. It seems kinda fishy, unless they spend a lot of money of units that are worthless.

The owner might be in arrears due to a clerical error on the part of the storage place....that would really suck for the renter !

Owner could be deceased, jailed, in a divorce, mentally ill, running from the Po-Po or something ? Some people don't know what stuff may be worth ? Some people just give up and move on, or don't care ? Obviously I know what silver coins are worth....I might not know about comic books or guitars, another guy knows guitars but not coins ?

I've seen strange stuff at these places. One guy just offered me a nice sailboat for free once....wasn't equipped to haul it.

Is it a law the stuff must be auctioned instead of the storage unit owner just seizing it for past due rent ? Is that Ca law only ?

I suspect there might be a lot of illegal stuff stored. I admit to storing dope in one myself, but the statue of limitations has me covered there. Pun intended.

Why bother to pay to store pure trash ? Why do some people fill their homes with pure garbage ( hoarders) ?

I think you'd need a warehouse/ barn to store this SHVT you buy and need to trash 90 % of fast ( and pay dump fees). Then figure out a way to sell what you keep....tough in a winter climate, more doable in Fla. or S. Ca.

I'm guessing you'd lose on most lockers, on occasion score BIG !

Why doesn't FH do this ?
