BTW, I know a guy who won it a week or two before I did. His share was over 50K. Not too shabby. He boxed 7 games (spent $640)

What I basically did was throw $320 on a 7 team ML parlay, hoping some of the boxed dogs win... and not knowing the potential payout. I'd say this is REAL gamblin'.

Pro picks is the only thing i'll play from OLG. I don't like doing Pointspread or the Proline. Terrible odds and lines and you get a better payout on a sportsbook. I don't box games I usually just pick all 13-14 games whatever it is and put the regular 5 bucks down. I know i'll never win unless I box but maybe one day. What the heck is 5 bucks anyways? Worth a shot in my opinion,

Yeah I imagine most of the near million pot is composed of $5 plays. Guys like me count on it, sorry to say.

But yeah you never know. Throw in some big dogs on the $5 play and you could be the lone winner. Any Given Sunday....

One of my worst gambling lows came from the OLG NFL pool. Several years ago boxed 8 games, costing $1280. I think it was a 14 game card with 6 teams favoured by 7+. I took those six straight up and boxed the rest. One of them lost. Worse than the financial hit was this was before you could box games on tickets. So 1280 divided by 5 = 256. I filled out 256 pool slips.

And NO WAY would I fill out 256 slips. That was insane. Took me hours.

I've won several. Biggest piece was $5200, smallest was under $400. Most of the $5 players probably play all the faves, so if they all win there will be too many winners. I'd take a shot with lots of dogs if I only put $5 on it.

I missed by 1 game this past weekend. Only 5 more weeks to go and with a bigger card, it will be tougher to win something but you can't win if you don't play!

Good luck to all poolies. Would be nice to have some coins for X-mas, no doubt.

You want to see something funny, a good reason not to box too many games on the pools. Last weekend's college football, dropped $40 to box 3 games (hoping for Wash St to pull the upset). They didn't, the big faves won. I won a cut of the pool but lost $1.30.

1100 winners, only $42.5K in the pot, nowhere near the popularity of NFL...

In Ontario we can only box 4 games on a ticket because they have this silly $100 rule per customer. But you can box more if you run additional tickets at other locations, which is what I did. 4 boxes is $80, 5 boxes is $160, 6 boxes is $320, 7 boxes is $640, 8 boxes is $1280, and so on......

BTW, if it looks confusing how 6 games are boxed on 4 tickets, it's very simple. The same 4 games are boxed on all 4 tickets. The other 2 boxed games are Lions/Jets and Browns/Pats. Lions and Browns on one ticket.....Lions and Pats on one.....Jets and Browns on one......and Jets and Pats.

Six games are boxed over those four $80 tickets.

tonight i just won the nba pool in alberta,11 games, 4 boxed ,seemed kind of easy,ive never played pools before or even heard of it ,fourth time trying it,payout sucks in nba ,last week 145 WINNERS shared 228 bucks, im gonna try lots of combos at 5 bucks a shot on NFL with my winnings,nba seems easy,nfl tougher,hockey the toughest to predict all winners,one dude just won 143,000 dollars on nfl pools recently on wclc LOVE THIS SITE BTW
