It may not be an accomplishment, but it does give the kids something to play for. If they aren't going to the NFL, it gives them 1 more game to play in.


But it's mainly just a money maker.

Only the BCS bowls matter, and everyone knows that.

Why complain about betting opportunities? But without a bet it would be ludicrous to waste time watching some of these.

TV ratings would be virtually non existant without gamblers.

If you have a kid it's been that way for 10-15 years.... They everyone gets a trophy mentality. Here in VA next year they have divisions and 16 out of 21 teams will make the "playoffs" in each division. 2-8 and the post-season here we come.

jmu, you referring to HS or college football???

i live in va as well and have to say the HS playoff format is overly complex to understand

profit i am taking a keen interest this year, my school could play for states next weekend.

even better, states is held at UVA this year, so i won't have to travel anywhere.
