EXACTLY. No one ever brings that up. Playoffs would mean its South Carolina vs Nebraska or some bullcrap like that as the NC. Two best teams rarely ever get through a playoffs.

the whole season is essentially single-elimination, especially if you lose toward the end of the season with the current format.
