#53Its just clear to me when you are 21rst in ppg as on offense and you are 2-7 overall you probably could have used that draft pick for a different position.Comment -

Dez is no doubt a great receiver, but there were questions about his character coming out of college. If he was just a hard-worker with that talent, he would've been drafted top 5.... Pats weren't the only team with concerns about him.
That being said, so far this year, he has been a great player and teammate. I hope he turned himself around and doesn't end up like so many of the jokers in the NFL who ruin their careers with drugs and violence. He seems like a good guy... I hope he keeps it upLast edited by rsnnh12; 11-18-10, 03:13 PM.Comment -

Hell, you've gotten in more trouble with SBR this year than he has with the NFL. haha! And you aren't even in the running for Rookie MVP of SBR, either.Comment -

Does Belicheck seem like the kind of guy to admit to something he doesn't think is wrong? Not even close. He admitted it.
Taken from some newspaper:
From the NFL's Constitution & Bylaws (article 9): "Any use by any club at any time, from the start to the finish of any game in which such club is a participant, of any communications or information-gathering equipment, other than Polaroid-type cameras or field telephones, shall be prohibited, including without limitation videotape machines, telephone tapping, or bugging devices, or any other form of electronic devices that might aid a team during the playing of a game."
the penalty
Belichick was fined $500,000 - the maximum allowed by NFL rules - and the Patriots penalized $250,000, plus the loss of their first-round draft pick.Comment -

Reason #2 is because it does not matter who Brady has at WR he will find someone open.
Reason #3 is because the Pats needed D more than O
Do you need more reasons than that?Comment -

Belichick apologized for being a distraction, and for ignoring the commissioners memo. He didn't break any rules, and according to the rules, he was in the right. He wanted to move on from it, which he didComment -

#61would loved to have seen dez as a pat and i remember him saying after meeting with bill he was hoping they would pick him. only pats know why they passed on him, but mccourtey is looking like he will be a great cb for years. actually pats had a great draft: mccourtey, spikes, cunningham, gronk, hernandez and the punter are all playing major roles. taylor price looked good in camp and will likely be off practice squad next season and contributing. if tate doesn't seem to develop into a consistent deep threat they have the picks to play with and go after an aj green. would expect to see them look for a rb, tackle to learn the ropes from light, de in case warren can't recover from injury if there is a draft in april.Comment -

#62It didn't aid them during the game... they used it after games. Its no different than using the NFL Films footage (which every team gets right after the game) and looking at the signals from that. Literally, the exact same thing. Belichick apologized for being a distraction, and for ignoring the commissioners memo. He didn't break any rules, and according to the rules, he was in the right. He wanted to move on from it, which he did
Done. There is no helping you out of your Patriot Fever.
EDIT: What you wrote would have more weight if he fought the charges the whole way, and didn't pay the half a million dollars. Half a million dollars. And his team paid a quarter of a million. That's money.Comment -

#63I can't believe people are blaming Dez for the Cowboy's record. I forgot rookies are supposed to lead their teams to Super Bowls. Their first game they just kept throwing it to him down the line of scrimmage and hoping he could break a tackle and run for five yards. Took them half a season to realize he could go deep.Comment -

#64Didn't the release of Randy Moss answer this question? It just isn't worth the trouble. That's not how NE wins their rings anyway.
The Pats got #90 overall from Dallas (Taylor Price) in exchange for moving down 3 spots from #24 (Bryant) to #27 (McCourty).
It's schrewd draft strategy. NE got 2 players for the price of 1. If McCourty & Price end up with productive careers, Pats win.Comment -

#66Don't get me wrong, the guy is sick for sure, but as good as he is how is his TEAM doing this season? You can be the best player in the world accomplish this accomplish that but when it comes down it they ask, how many championships did he win. I mean don't get me wrong, way early in his career to say he's not gonna win a championship but he won't this year thats for sure.Comment -
