They need to change to Pride style judging and score the fight as a whole instead of this round by round stuff. Then I'm sure we would see the fighter who earned it win.

+1. I've been saying that for a long time as well. This is killing the sport for me, really.

You could have easily given 3 of 5 rounds to Griffin over Jackson, Karma may come in that Machida got a gift Decison against Rua, now he gets another loss on his record

it`s over...so be it...but i have to say,if you think for a second that "octagon control"(i.e. ring generalship in boxing) is plodding forward without scoring, you seriously need to bone up on the subject......
it`s called "effective aggressiveness"...and rampage scored next to nothing in the first....he plodded...but machida did all the scoring....

Bet Rampage but didn't think he won. I think the judges had to guess the scores because they fell asleep during the fight because it was so boring.

Just re-watched the fight a couple of times. Rampage won the first 2 rounds. Third was clearly for machida but not a crazy DEC here.

Does anyone out there in the world other then the judges have Rampage winning? wtf.
I'd rather see 5 3minute rounds, instead of 3 5 minute rounds

and machida got the decision against shogun (in the fight against him before shogun knocked him out) when he didnt deserve it.
but i had rampage winning the first two rounds...what did machida do? kick his leg a couple times and run away.....rampage landed some solid uppercuts and pressed the action the whole way, initiated the clinches, got takedowns, landed some knees and kicks of his own, blocked every headkick, only got hit with one flurry pretty much....it was a close fight but i agree with the judges

machida got the dec. against rua cus he was the champ at the time... whoever the fukking clown was that said rampage won rds.1 and 2 is a moron and really shouldnt comment on any mma threads... machida out struck him 3-1 in rd.1 and owned rd.3 ... to a point where rd.3 could have been a 10-8 rd. (and if i were a judge, i would have given it serious consideration) very bad decision...rampage knew he lost the fight, as did anyone else who watched it... load up on whoever fights rampage next...price will not matter, he will get owned by machida or rua..unfortunately the books know it too

i know your ass is kinda sore because you lost raydog but the facts of the matter are a ufc fight is more like a bar fight than a karate competition. if you run around the ring for the entire fight like a little bitch and leave it up to the judges then thats just what happens. even when he had rampage fully mounted he didnt do anything- im not an idiot for understanding the decision. and i bet i pick mma way better than you. this is just what can happen in a close fight where you dont finish an opponent whos been dictating the pace the entire fight.
2 out of 3 judges agree with me as do 50 percent of MMA fans from a pole of 4441 people shown below. so does dana white, so does rampage (now) in the link below that. so much so that he wont grant them an immediate rematch. rampage thought he lost because he just got done getting the business and getting rocked in the third and final round there which nobody disputes that machida won.
how/why rampage won...why there will be no immediate rematch....why rampage was so quick to raise machidas hand
"
Not so fast, said UFC President Dana White. There won't be an immediate sequel because Jackson "definitely" did enough to win, said White, who described himself as irritated with the official winner's downcast attitude.
"He (ticks) me off again," White said. "Rampage is slumping down and raising the other guy's hand and acting like he lost. ... That's not the fight I saw."
White and Jackson's trainers believe he won the first two rounds by constantly moving forward and throwing power punches to cut off Machida's lateral movement. Two judges agreed, scoring the fight 29-28 for Jackson.
But Jackson's post-fight reflections focused on the final round, when he reeled from Machida's punch combinations, gave up a takedown and spent much of the final minute trapped on the ground and eventually mounted by his opponent.
"When he dominated me so much in the third round, I forgot what happened in the first two rounds," Jackson said. "At the time, I thought I got my (butt) whupped because I was just getting up off the ground and he ran a flurry off my face."
dont try to dog my MMA capping skills cuz youre all butthurt about your loss. have only read this last post here on page 5 but i am sure you were on machida. i was 3-0 on UFC 123...how about you?

rampage landed 1 solid uppercut...he got kicked a half dozen times and didnt do shit on the fence ...he lost rd.1 ... even the stupid memphis nig admitted he lost the fight... until dana told him to backtrace it....ahahahaha he backtraced it... unfukking real how you clowns react when you win the shit side of a bad decision... the winning fighter admitted to millions he lost the fight...im not bitter, i had a much better night than you, i promise... but it was blatantly obvious that unless lyoto beat him down all 3 rds, it wasnt going to be a fair decision...thats my fault for betting that it wouldnt last 3 rds... dana knew there was more money in a rua/jackson fight than another rua/machida fight...AND IT IS OBVIOUS NOW!
and for godfukking sakes pal, please dont ever quote anything from those asshat, non-betting sherdog fukks again...they are as clueless as fukking dac... they made a huge deal about machida getting ko'd by rua, yet failed to mention that rua put rampage in the hospital with a brutal 1st rd beating back in pride... fukking morons...
anyways pal, enjoy your winnings... do yourself a favor and maybe take a judging course or two so you can see why rampage didnt win the 1st round and perhaps you can get back to me then...in the meantime, get your spanked ass off my shit and run along...oh, as mcirish would say, theres some cab money on my fukking dresser for you, now get the fukk out...thanks son. (damn i think thats what he said...haha) fukking kids crack me up... hang on every bet these days and give themselves a huge pat on the back when the coinflip finally pays off....

gaydog, that wasnt about me winning- it was about me being sure that you lost and that youre just being a sore loser.
anyone can see that it was a close match. the round in dispute, rd 1....rampage chased him around the entire time and landed 23 blows to his 14. i just said that last part because youre trying to pretend like i dont know what im talking about- not bragging. get em next time tiger. hahaha

I'm a newb here, but I actually find myself agreeing with graydog.
Yeah I counted strikes for rampage in the first and second but... that round was just so pathetic. You really can't score the 1st as having the same value as the 3rd fairly
the first round was basically worthless, the second round had a little action but the third round was basically the fight.
I won $ because I bet on the fight going DEC but I didn't expect it to go like that.

yeah for sure nugs...that first round was worthless and people were even booing for a large part of it. and youre right machida killed him in the third round...after gettin beat and controlled like that for a round, rampage himself even thought he won cuza how he made him feel and what he had just survived...
but i guess they just decided to give it to the chaser insteada the chasee' in that first round and rampage won the second. It was a very close fight and i could've seen it going either way but to not understand how the judges could've also- that is just ignorant.

you are the best glitch... i give it up to you now... i have no argument... i can see that attempted footstomps count as much as leg kicks do and i take back all i said... hell, even rampage (who had his head held low because, and i quote, "he beat my ass") took back his words after a meeting with dana... when a fighter admits he lost, thats all i need...money wasnt the issue tonight... i did well with bj, hallman, falco and sotropolous, but i am a sore loser when a fight looks bogus and nobody wants to say anything because the more popular guy won...hell, nobody wants to see rua/machida 3 anyways, i cant blame the crew... hey, im no stranger to questionable decisions... i was on the good end of one last weekend in a boxing match where my man might have won 2 rds....it was ridiculous, i graded the fukker in the 10th rd. i gave out freeplays to a dozen people because of it...anyways, you win this time sensei...but ill be back...
glitch, why dont you ever come into chat anymore pal? we have fresh blood in there these days...common man, one time!

I couldnt believe it when They announced the third judges scorecard. It was highway robbery no doubt about it. This is why I never bet UFC anymore. The judges already have their minds made up before the fight.

didnt initially recognize you from my 5 or 6 trips into sbrchat in the past raydog but now i do....
anyways, i do agree you and to be honest when the match was over- i thought they were going to give it to machida (even though i thought rampage won). well.....no offense and sorry about repeatedly referring to you as gaydog.
