Let me try to somehow piece together this mess.
This happened in Nevada in 1992. Oldest trick in the book.

It was in 2002..
Game Story LAS VEGAS (Ticker) -- Jonathan Orr's record-setting performance was cut short. Orr had the biggest receiving day for a freshman in school history as 25th-ranked Wisconsin rolled to a 27-7 victory over Nevada-Las Vegas in a game that was halted in the fourth quarter due to a power failure. Orr set a pair of school freshman records with seven receptions for 154 yards before a transformer blew with 7:41 in the final period, causing a loss of power in much of Sam Boyd Stadium. Officials called the game, which was the home opener for the Rebels and drew 42,075 - a record crowd for a Nevada sporting event. Wisconsin's Brooks Bolinger completed 12-of-24 passes for 156 yards. He threw a 37-yard touchdown toss to Orr just over three minutes into the second quarter and found Bob Docherty from seven yards just 85 seconds later as Wisconsin (2-0) jumped to a 14-0 lead. Mike Allen kicked a 43-yard field goal and Dwayne Smith ran for a two-yard TD with two minutes left as the Badgers took a 24-7 halftime lead. Anthony Davis rushed for 81 yards on 20 carries, helping Wisconsin total 159 yards on the ground. UNLV's Jason Thomas completed 13-of-27 passes for 146 yards but was intercepted twice and fumbled twice in the first half. He also had 10 carries for 80 yards as the Rebels (0-1) ran for 146 yards. UNLV avoided a shutout when Joe Haro scored on a 15-yard run with 56 seconds left in the first half. Wisconsin's Scott Campbell capped the scoring with a 42-yard field goal with 7:57 remaining. But the lights dimmed and went out 16 seconds later while the Rebels had the ball.
