    Beer Review 2 (Video)

    Franziskaner Dunkel Weiss 8

Smooth, well balanced, lots of head, easy drinker. Not as heavy as some weiss beers, but still plenty of punch. Banana and clove flavors are apparent.

    Rogue John John Ale 7.5

Expected more out of this beer, but still overall very good. The beer is definitely thoroughly dominated by the whiskey barrel character, but hints of honey and citrus are apparent.

    Ayinger Weizen Bock 9

The cream of this particular crop. I mean, RUN to your local store and find this gem. It had a very large, fluffy white head with good retention. The aroma was banana, clove, and wheat. The taste was full of citrus, clove, and pepper with some wheat and light malt mixed in. The alcohol comes in later, but it doesn't dominate the beer. I rarely give out more than a 9 out of 10. Thought about making this a 9.5. It really is that good.

    Tucher Dunkel Weizen 7

A light-to medium-bodied dunkelweizen and smooth on the palate and perhaps a bit thin. Lots of effervescence is present. Possibly too much carbonation for the type of beer, and was a bit bland in my opinion. Banana bread with a lot of hops was how I characterized it. Citrus and clove again but nothing to knock you out. A good beer, but nothing to write home about.

Charkoota Rye Smoked Doppelbock Lager 1.5

I am not kidding, I really tried to like this beer, but it was God awful. I would rather have a Bud Light. No joke. It tasted like a campfire mixed with rotten cabbage. Fukin PASS. Poured it out.

CB, I'm not into beer, wines are more my thing but that's irreleveant to this post. You know why I like you? Because you're a 20 something guy that has the time and inclination to do what 20 something guys should do but are usually too lazy to do them. You have the adventureous, carefree attitude of a young guy your age but you've got a sophistication that most do not. You enjoy the retro stuff like Janis with a legit turntable going on. In time, you may grow into becoming too professorial because you'll soon realize your sophistication can get you places and sometimes, as we mature we become smitten with what got us there. But I believe you're too grounded to ever get too caught up in your bad self.

It's no wonder you prefer older women. I think you enjoy the intellectual challenge while you savor the lack of a sexual challenge. You've got your own place and every time I watch you, it takes me back to a time when I had far less responsibilities and much more inspiration to do things that were just plain fun to do.

If you dig wine CB, do a wine tasting. Sure it's a little wimpy for most of these neanderthals but I for one would enjoy it. As always, great job, awesome appreciation for the old school stuff and keep on making the vids. BTW, I have a golden rule of never rmaking my podcasts in excess of 4 minutes, same with vids as people's attention span starts to wane. But I have to be honest, I was interested right until the end.

Swinger, thanks for the comments, it's appreciated...Brock is right though I am in my early 30's.

I could do a couple wines here and there for those interested, probably one wine at a time though, my liver kinda hates me lately.

Seer, those are all solid choices, although I am not a pale ale guy.

Well early 30's, still cool. You've got a good vibe going on. CB, did I bum out Brock? I thought he was trying to bust me a bit by splitting hairs about your age and I kind of busted him right back. I actually feel kind of bad about the whole thing. There's really nothig funny if a guy is really having money problems. For all I know he could be part owner of the Blackhawks. I dunno but if I did bum him out, I bummed myself in the process.

Hey CB, no not worried about being on his or any other hit list as I can take care of myself on these forums and relish the opportunity to do so but it's more about kicking a guy when he's down. Like I said, he may be loaded as far as I know but I just don't like to pile on if someone is truly in dire straits.

The way I understand it is, as long as Brock is still married, he's all good. His family and wife have had to bail him out now a couple times. My guess is though, that the leash is getting shorter. Dire straits was a few weeks back now...I think things have turned around a bit.

You are giving me new beers to try, and I really appreciate that.

The Janice on other girls comment made me LOL, so solid. You know her friend would have been lights out with all that money and fame.

also, I have tried maybe 2 dopplebocks (doublebocks), and they were both horrible. I couldn't finish either one. Which is a first, and 2nd time only haha

                                                  Love this one. I haven't had a Weihenstephaner product I didn't like.
