Soderling is going to be a big public play again and that's poison. Also the indoor surface in Valencia is a lot different than this one. Paris is super quick. Valencia was slower. Not saying that favors one or the other, but the results from Valencia are not as big a factor as people will make them out to be. Monfils had won a tournament the week before that, so fatigue was likely as well. Head-2-head doesn't always tell the story. Still think the best bet is taking o23.5 games.

Soderling beats Llodra and Monfils beats Federer and yet Soderling seems "too easy", that's crazy talk. I'm on Monfils at home here, current form in tennis trumps ranking, previous head-to-head - everything.

Monfils had very good movement yesterday, he will push Soderling into longer rallies and I am not sure Soderling will be consistent in 12-14 stroke rallies. I would not take fatigue into this match, Monfils is young and home crowd will give him extra energy, over is good bet but I will try little on frenchman too - he is eager to win this hig one home.

Monf seemed to tank last week in Valencia, to get some rest for his home event in Paris. Also, as someone else said, completely different surface - Paris just about the fastest on tour now, Valencia is about the slowest hard court (indoor or outdoor).

Have to wonder if Monfils has the energy though, had some hard matches.

Both have been chokers at the latter end of tournaments, Monfils in finals, Soderling in qfs/sfs.
