I'm in sports broadcasting so It could be real bad. Considering the economic climate its ridiculous the 2 sides can't come together and work something out. I'll say this, the current NBA bargaining agreement is extremely complex and convoluted

Guaranteed money is going away. The lazy NBA players are trying to keep it around as long as possible. The days of getting your contract and coasting the rest of the way is over. Guys like this will suffer.

And NBA management is so much more virtuous? Owners are worth at least several hundred million dollars (unless ownership can be shared kind of like stock, I don't know).

The NBA wouldn't have such financial problems if owners would stop giving good contracts to mediocre players. Only allowing contracts of a couple years, maybe three, would help, as well as not having rules that make it hard for players to change teams. Players have mostly the same stats every year when they have the same or similar teammates; seeing how people play with different teammates is of particular interest in the NBA because of that consistency unique to the sport. Look at Steve Nash going to Phoenix and, of course, Miami this year.

thats what i am hearing too - not that i have any inside source - i dont. the owners are talking about losing hundreds of millions - that is total b.s. they are already positioning for a strike.
