#37Dogs winning always adds excitement. Hell, the sbr gambling guru paco were on the Rangers. Phillies - Giants was the biggest series in this postseason by far. Amazingly exciting games. The rest were quite frankly bit of snoozers in comparison. Yankees - Minnesota is the worst matchup ever. Yankees - Rangers the yankees didnt even try. Phillies cruised Reds, Giants easily took Atlanta and then finally Giants cruised through silly Rangers...Comment -

#50Very true:
NEW YORK – November 1, 2010 – Last night’s “Sunday Night Football” game was the most-watched primetime program on Sunday Night for the eighth straight week, according to fast national data released today by The Nielsen Company. The game, featuring the last two Super Bowl champions in a Halloween showdown in New Orleans, in which the Saints defeated the Steelers 20-10, was seen by an average of 18.1 million people (from 8:31-11:21 p.m. ET).
There is no year-to-year comparison for this SNF game because last night was the first time that NBC “Sunday Night Football” went head-to-head with the World Series. SNF out-drew World Series Game 4 by 17 percent (18.1 million for SNF vs. 15.5 million for the World Series). The household rating for last night’s “Sunday Night Football” game was a 10.7/17.

#55Personally, I enjoyed the World Series, but I can see where you are coming from. It did seem like the WS took a backseat on most media outlets. The ratings were actually very high. Sunday nights game had ratings comparable to Sunday Night Football, which was surprising to me. But for most people, excitement in baseball is scoring runs, and this WS was clearly won by pitching and defense. For true baseball fans, I think this was a treat.Comment -

#57I was at the bar for game 5, and asked the waitress if she had baseball, they had over 15 TVs showing hockey/news and zero showing what is the final game of the WS...
That was shocking and here I see this threadComment -

#58YES, it was the worse WS ever.. no one watched. it was worse than a PIT/KC world series.. you couldn't have asked for 2 shittier teams than this.. not more than 3 players america can name from both teams, except cliff lee. who else did you want america to tune into to watch, buster posey or freddy sanchez?? i swear to god, there might not be a bigger fan of baseball than myself. i love the game so much.. and before the playoffs, i'd never heard of these guys.. i watched every pitch of the playoffs, and i still don't know who they are... and i am not saying this because i lost money in the playoffs, because i swear to god, this might have been my most successful playoffs of my gambling career. i think i went like 26-6.. but it really will go down as the worst W.S. of all time..Comment -

#61Upset the Phillies didn't show up. Honestly I only watched because I had vested interest in the games. Not an exciting W.S at all. Most impressive to me was Lincecum. Renteria was clutch and you can't forget Cody Ross. Ross was locked in this post season. Came outta nowhere. Congratulations to the Giants and there fans. I was just in San Francisco 2 weeks ago. Fine city other than the gays.Comment -

#64For those that pine for the day when the WS meant everything, remember that back then there was NO Sunday or Monday night football. I even seem to remember a few years when they didn't have a Sunday night game for one week because it was WS time.
The other thing is, of those who say the WS was boring (and it was far from historic), how many COMPLETE BB games did you watch this season that did not involve your favorite team? Maybe you are not really a BB fan. This is not a slam, I haven't been unless I have a financial interest either.Comment -

#67Definitely were not as many viewers as there would have been had it been the Phils and the Yanks but I thought it was good. A bit boring but still enjoyable watching two teams that wanted it more and were not stacked up with big names.Comment -

#68I find it really sad that people actually form their opinion about something based on the national TV ratings. Things that are hugely popular are so because they cater to the lowest common denominator, not because they have any inherent quality. I choose to base my opinions on my own feelings about a program after actually WATCHING it.Comment -
