If you are considering taking an idea and running with it, why not give it a try? My guess is that you are young, ambitious, ect. Go do it...even if it justs lasts a season or two, you are putting minimal money into the learning process...which is so much more important...if this fails, your next try will be opportunity and you will have a better vision to seize the day.
I had a boss who said something to me 12 years ago...don't ever subsitute efforts for results.

Carts aren't very profitable. The city will rape you on vendor fees. This is for establishments that don't have the luxury of picking up and moving when times are bad. Show me your business plan, I'll approve or deny.

Where can you get anything that passes health code for $500/month? And don;t forget you have a lot more expenses than just 'setup and cook meat'. Have to have separate water sources..etc. It's not as easy as it seems

Where I live you can make a killing 2 times a year with a hotdog cart. Just set up beside the main road going from Johnson City to Bristol & the race traffic people stop

you are better off with a hot dog cart rather than a store front. you will need board of health requirements and a grease trap and all kinds of red tape with a store front place. with a cart you can eliminate a lot of the overhead and relocate to different locations as necessary. yes no protection from weather but you will make more money. also no french fries but instead sell small bags of chips and 12 oz sodas to go with your dogs. huge profit margin and little maintenance work with those side items.

Any Tampa/ St. Pete guys remember the semi-nude, thong wearing, hot dog stand girls all along US 19 and Ulmerton Rd in the Clearwater area a few years back.
Nice while it lasted.

Well time does really fly when you get old. But maybe 12 or 13 yrs ago? You sure 20? Whatever though, made for a nice ride and a few wrecks caused by rubber necking.
