    Who Watches UFC??
I consider myself a pretty big sports fan, following the 4 major North American leagues very closely, and betting on each, some more than others.
That being said, I have yet to be slightly interested by the Mixed Martial Arts craze that has taken over in the last 3-4 years, and as hard as I try to get into UFC or MMA in general, I just dont give two sh*ts.
They either walk around each other for 3 rounds, or ass grab, with a punch here or there.
I used to enjoy watching the original UFC match ups when any two figthers, regardless of weight would match up and there were no rules essentially. But this new age crap just bores me.

    Am I the only one?

I watch it. A lot of fights are duds, but when you get a good fight it's just so good. Hopefully Lesner will provide one of those good fights in 5 minutes.

I don't see it as hardcore as everyone acts like it is, a lot of dancing and groping on the ground. I don't think it will ever get huge if they keep everything on PPV. You aren't going to get to many new fans when its $40 every time you want to see a fight.

you should be very careful when betting on mma, upsets are very very common like tonight for example

I watch every event. You don't like it because you have zero comprehension of what you're watching.

And you think even 10% of the people getting drunk tonight to watch it understand the technical merits of MMA?

No probably not, they just want somebody's head to be smashed wide open... maybe bathe in blood. Those are the same people that watch football to see helmet to helmet hits or home runs in baseball or even the rare goal in futbol.

                      What is your point?

His point still stands, if you knew a little bit more about the technical nature of the various mixed martial arts there is a greater chance of you appreciating the sport. Is that such an off the wall comment?

The sport is already huge and easily second to football. The numbers dont lie and they are not even global yet.

Show me a sporting event that regularly crashes websites like mma does, you wont find one.

When those 14 year old kids grow up...

and that means more events which means more money for me.

I thought rugby was complete utter trash to watch, until I started playing it. Come to think about it I felt the same way about pretty much most of the sports. Then I learned a little more and things surprisingly got interesting.

china, italy and brazil are in line. The only place they will be missing is the motherland, i bet you could find some very good raw talent in the safarri, they have cardio for days. Hopefully, they get the ball rolling but it will probably be another 5 years.
