Broke "pro" poker players

The list changes everyday. I'm sure lots of pro's go bust and fall out of the lime light just as previously broke ones rise again with a sponser or loan.

What exactly constitutes being a pro?

If a guy wins 1 big tourney is he then a pro?

Do you have to win consistently for a number of years?

Most of these guys lose tons of money, you only here once in a while when they win a tourney

Gamble everyday and be broke no matter what form of gambling it is especially if for serious money

99% of old time card players went broke several times in the lives

today , if they dont receive ad/endorsement $$$ they still go broke

the ones who are wealthy today got their wealth from being good businessmen

Most of them have the same problem ....no money management but for some thats what got them there in the first place.
It's one thing to win money in poker but what a lot of them haven't learned and the young ones especially is after you win the money it becomes your job to protect it not expose it to bad risks because the odds were right.

Most are staked by someone so majority of them are broke unless they have a big sponsor and other businesses/investments.

Because in reality, none of them are really that good just think they are.

I would never be afraid to play any poker pro, yet if you play federer in a tennis match you have no hope.
