Until he wins something, Rivers is going to be viewed as a punk. I agree though that he's respected in San Diego and if they're kicker didn't fold up like a cheap tent in the clutch they would have been to a couple of Super Bowls by now. Can't fault Rivers for that.

If they don't win this season they should fire Norv Turner and he should take Nate Kaeding with him. Giving up two big plays, one each on special teams and defense, tells me the Chargers have bigger problems than Phillip Rivers.

Rivers is the QB, you cant be yelling at your teammates when something goes wrong. You never see guys like Manning or Brady yelling at teammates.

Those guys are true leaders, not Rivers.

You guys need to get a grip and learn to read a newspaper and/or study history. Chargers always start slow...then they burn down your house in November and December.

...Rivers is very well respected on the team and around the league, anyone who says differently doesn't know fvk-all about the NFL.

couldn't have said it better myself. Competitive, but classless. However, he can learn to be a leader, which will ultimately gain respect. We know he has the skills. Don't judge him too harshly yet. Maybe one or two more episodes, and then the ultimate judgment can be given. Young and learning....

Considering he's splitting carries, there's only so much he can prove. But I'm with you; I don't think LT is finished like so many people do. San Diego's run-blocking was awful the last two years as they became a much more pass-oriented offense. Tomlinson isn't the same player he was in his prime, but he can still be productive.

He is an ok qb, better than average but someone said it nicely. He fvckin complains after every incomplete and yells at his receivers/back and olinemen. The one that stuck out in my mind last night was on the final drive inside the 10 when rivers escapes the pocket to the left, throws to a WR(cant remember) and he slips and rivers starts yelling at him.
