That payout is likely the largest ever in the history of legal sports betting

He placed a series of bets on the Astros I think back in March. $3 million at Ceasars alone that would pay him $30 million and other bets totally close to $10m that will win him $75m.

You would hope that he hedged out of some of this but this guy is a straight gambler. He said he's not hedging. He ran his promotion again in his furniture stores and if the Astros win, his customers get free shit.

He's selling a shit load of furniture. Actually the promotion in his stores are on mattresses only, so can you imagine how much he makes on mattresses?? That's a lot of mattresses, into the millions. A long time ago it used to be on all his furniture. The one year they won it all, I was in one of their stores and was going to buy up some furniture with the promotion. My wife was rushing me to get to the airport, so we left without completing the purchase. We would have gotten $5k of free furniture that year. I was going to hedge either way, so I would have gotten it basically for half. Fukking wife in a hurry...

He doesn't care. He's rolling in dough. He came to Houston with a few hundred dollars in his pocket and built into the hundreds of millions. He loves gambling, he has a scratch off promotion on his website. lol. I'm a member of their tennis club and they always have poker nights, casino nights, gaming, etc. They used to bring in all the top tennis players into the club years ago but stopped for some reason. All the celebrities used to attend. He's given a lot back to the city. The guy is a walking saint. He has helped people build homes, furnish them, give out food, etc. He let people stay in his stores during hurricanes, weather events, etc. Very good guy that never forgot where he came from.

Actually all the gambling events are free. You get free chips and can exchange them for swag. For example there’s a poker tourney this Friday and the top chip winner gets suite seats at the rest of the Texans game. 10th place gets membership free for a year, which the club is not cheap. The top 50 usually gets prizes. They do have charity events for you to blow your money. Haha. We had a huge drive during Katrina and Harvey. People brought enough clothes, toys and food for thousands that were displaced. It was incredible. Had to tell people to stop donating stuff. Same for JJ Watt, his organization received like 300 million from Houstonians. People here help each other unlike any city I’ve ever lived in.

Might be a lot of free mattresses.

I wonder how the business accounting/tax works on this. Did the businesses buy these tickets?

They have to pay him cash. So he is going to need an armored vehicle to take the money back to Houston.

You think all six books are going to stiff Matress Mack?

In May, Mack wagered $4 million to win $42 million in Louisiana — $3 million at 10-1 at Caesars and $1 million at 12-1 at WynnBET.

In July, he wagered $6 million to win $30.6 million — $2 million at 5-1 at the BetMGM book at the Bellagio; $2 million at +533 at Barstool Sportsbook in Louisiana; and $1 million each at 5-1 at Unibet and Betfred books in Iowa.

CNBC the other day did a piece on Ceasars where the stock had gone up a bit and this quarter should be great profits but Ceasars even mentioned that if Mack cashes, it would hit their bottom line by $30 million dollars. So, yes, they must pay him, that's for sure. Unless their execs want to go to jail.

He literally would give you the shirt off his back. This man has done so much for the city of Houston. Came here with absolutely nothing and never forgot where he came from. His only vice that I know of is gambling. He's a degenerate but responsible gambler.
