Dortmund are the healthiest they have been all season. The winter / World Cup break was just what the Dr ordered for Dortmund. They started the renewed campaign with 6 staright wins and play with a sense of conviction. With so many injuries , and uncertainties regarding several players , Chelsea have chosen to dig their heels in and attempt to gain whatever points they can. So far , it has resulted in a winless skid of 8 games with zero wins , 3 draws and 5 losses. This game comes at a bad time for Chelsea and 80,000+ fans will be sure to let them know tomorrow.

Momentum and confidence goes a long way at this point in the knockout stage. Brugge are the long shot of the 16 remaining teams. They hit a run of bad form following their triumphant promotion to the knockout stage. A new coach was appointed prior to the new year , but his record of only one win in 7 games hasnt won him any praise locally. Benfica are a quality side who leads their domestic league in Portugal over sides Porto and Sporting Lisbon. If they both play to their best capabilities , Benfica comes out on top no matter where this game is played,

Trabzonspor have won 6 straight at home and not conceded a single goal. The early season issues seem to have been ironed out and they are getting back to the form that saw them win the Turkish title. Basel of Switzerland have been a money factory that produced young talent domestically and resold their players for substantial profit. Gone are the days that saw them compete in Europe , as they are hard pressed to attain a top 4 or 5 finish domestically. Despite the terrible earthquake fallout , i expect Trabzonspor to find inspiration in giving Turkish fans a reason to celebrate amidst the mourning.
