JJ knows how to trigger Trump cult members. He doesn't rent but created a post about not paying rent and the Trumpers are mad that people have had help in paying their rent. The Trumpers say these people are scourges, bad people that are taking advantage of the system but totally ignore when the rich (Trump) screw everyone and corporations take advantage of people everyday.

The irony of it all is that some in the thread have the nerve to lie to you that they own rental properties and are being stiffed by most likely a minority which is totally untrue because there's a relief bill for landlords.

The people who don't support rent assistance support the billionaire landlord who declared bankruptcy 7 times to avoid paying what he owed to contractors he hired.

wtf does Trump have anything to do with it?

This rental assistance has been since March. The highest court in the country said you can't do it anymore. Landlords have bills also. You can't pick and choose which laws to obey based on political affiliation or anything else in fact.

You have Trump on the brain in your head and its making you look dumb.

Tell your guy to go pay the people he stiffed and the taxes he owes before telling renters to go pay rent.

People are so stupid if you can't see what's right in front of you. If you tell people there's a moratorium on rent, a lot of people won't pay. They think they're getting over, but they're not. They're not saving that extra rent movey, they're not buying stocks, starting a new business. No, they ain't doing shit. So eventually, the landlords get backed up on mortgage payments, but they don't have the cash, so they have to sell. Guess who the mom and pop landlords sell to: the corporate giant land-amassing realtors. So now more private property is in the hands of mega-corporations, and now you still can't rent shit, and guess what? You ain't got no money either. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. And congratulations, you voted for it, and you asked for it.

How many landlords do we have at SBR. I'm guessing zero point zero. For those of you in Texas, knock yourselves out.

Do you think that it's fair that because utilities are included in with the rent that landlords have been paying the utilities for the properties they are renting out?

I have to do some research on this, but I imagine, like a lot of things, the bigger companies here are making sure they fill out all the paperwork, correctly etc. They are going to be buying up properties when smaller guys default.

Save me some time. What happens when the bill is due for all the back rent? Do you think more than 40% of the people are going to pay that in total? Can the home owner, who may just be living paycheck to paycheck (all the rental owners I have ever known have been moreso in this category), tell the bank that their tenants defaulted, therefore they need a break too?

What planet are you guys living on??? The relief program covers rent AND utilities. Landlords and tenants are both eligible. Very simple for tenants to get benefits if they lost their job and can't pay their rent. If a landlord has not been paid by the tenant, they can easily get payments from the relief fund.

The only reason you should owe back rent is because you did not claim in time and your landlord didn't make a claim. You can still claim today and get it back dated but that is on you the renter and the landlord. If you own a rental property and your tenant cannot/won't pay then it is very easy to receive this money. NO ONE should be losing their property of tenants not paying. You don't have to tell a bank. Just get relief and pay the bill. Stay informed, the money is out there if you are impacted.

Find emergency help if you can’t pay rent and utilities

If you’re having trouble paying for rent and utilities, you’re not alone. The federal Emergency Rental Assistance (ERA) program was created to help tenants like you cover housing costs and stay in stable housing during the coronavirus pandemic. Money can be used to cover back rent and future rent, utilities, and other housing costs during the COVID-19 pandemic

    • Money can be used to cover back rent and future rent, utilities, and other housing costs during the COVID-19 pandemic
    • Payments usually go directly to landlords and utility companies
    • Money may be available to help with moving costs

You or your landlord may be able to apply, depending on where you live.

Everyone that does not know how to get relief. There's a ton of resources out there from PPP loans, to the CARES act, to SBA, to the Economic Injury Disaster, etc. From small landlords to huge companies, the money is there if you are effected. Trump instituted a bunch of stuff.

For most states, rent relief has to be claimed by the TENANT. If you're a scumbag piece of shit who isn't even interested in paying rent, what makes anyone think you'll help the landlord out when you don't pay? This, of course, is irrelevant from the normal argument of WHERE THE penetrate DO YOU THINK THE penetrating MONEY COMES FROM, YOU penetrating PINE CONE?

If they are making more to sit at home than I don't know, maybe employers should pay more money???? You mentioned unemployment but you do know that you have had to have a job in order to qualify for unemployment? Do you know that the person and/or their employer PAID INTO UNEMPLOYMENT? Shouldn't they be entitled to receive a benefit for the money they already put in? You sound like you have no clue to how unemployment works??? Who cares what people use their money for. When did you become the voice/reason of the general public?

Stop it. Many of these programs are FEDERAL... You as a landlord can get funds to pay your mortgage and you can also get your mortgage delayed from most banks.

If you are a landlord, maybe you shouldn't rent to scumbags. What do you think happens to people that shit on their landlords? They get bad credit, they get a bad reputation as a bad tenant. You will always have bad renters. People that leave the place a mess or tears up the carpet or fukks up the ceiling or bath. That happens even when there wasn't Covid. You can't rely on the government to make you whole when you don't do your due diligence and manage your properties properly. It's called business.
