so they'll have to come up with a crazy plan to consolidate a season and playoffs, prob at neutral sites not in major cities

or come up with a crazy deal to keep players playing on a team they are no long contractually obligated to play for

players will be paid no matter what. So I don't see their motivation being based on $. Huge amounts of them will want to play no matter what i'm sure. We will see what the players union and outspoken libtard players, owners and coaches say. (think Cuban, Popavich, James)

if its going like this it means :

by the end of this week : 350 - 500 k cases

by the end of next week : 1.2 m - 2 m cases

by the end of overnext week : 5 - 10 mln

by the end of april : 15 - 30 mln

by the end of may : 150 mln

by the end of june : everyone gets recovered

so july start of mlb is realistic

The United States recently finished our "15 days to slow the spread" (which was always ridiculous) and now it's turned into another 30 days (which will turn into another 30). Most states are only issuing shelter in place orders for like 15-30 days at a time, even though it's likely to be longer. I don't know what MLS is doing, but any date an organization puts out mean zilch right now. I mean, we're still in the very early stages of this thing. It's going to get a lot uglier before anyone can even begin to speak intelligently about potential start dates.

I agree with you that MLS putting out a start date now means zilch but the “very early stages of this thing” was 3 weeks ago. NYC death rate peak is believed to be 6 days from now.
