      JJ is mentioning naltrexone.

They throw that stuff at a variety of problems. Alcohol, H and a ton of different opiates, and pathological gambling.

Addiction can be talked about ad Infinitum. I agree with what some of the others posters, In the end it's about sacking up and getting away from behaviors that are inherently immature.

Ga stays in the problem which gets old. Seems so negative and it's not inspiring. If you really want to move on and have a better life you don't worry about ways to manage your money and fight the compulsion, you move on completely.

Go after something that's actually worth putting your time into. People are not bullshitting when they say nobody wins. Hell, poker is a way better hustle than sports gambling and only 1% of poker players make money. The "pros" will all tell you that sports gambling is a leak.

Self-centered, dark, narcissistic, and loneliness. Those are just some of the fine elements that accompany gamblers. I've scene some amalgam of those characteristics in every other gambler I've ever met and experienced them. Ultimately, gamblers are miserable and live shitty lives. Look at Billy Walters, guy was literally at the top but was clearly still dissatisfied because of greed.

Listen....I find it hilarious listening to all of these degenerates saying 'bet 1% of your BR on all bets' and that kind of thing.

True degenerate gamblers, the kind that have serious issues, CANNOT do this. It is impossible not to tilt. It is impossible to control it, thus the issue in the first place.

I would love to help, but I have no idea how. I was a degen for a long time because I lost at all sorts of games of chance....and then I found poker and sports gambling. They have been wonderfully profitable over the years, so I no longer have to consider myself an addict....I still do dumb things (losing $8k in the casino in Aruba 5 months ago in less than an hour) but for the most part, I now hate losing so I control things.

To be honest, if you are a losing gambler and can't find a game you can beat....you are probably just destined to this issue for the rest of your life. Just try. That's all the advice I can give. Keep plugging away

sex is the best quittting motivator - u need a new addiction to replace the old one - as your brain chemistry rarely changes - plus vigorous exercise at the gym somehow helps with any addiction - i quit smoking for better sex with one gf- i quit drinking for better sex with another gf - so... find a great frequent lay for yourself

Yep JJ, child support for almost 2 decades is a biiitch..

Needless to say if the Mother hates you and turns your kid against you it's just more painful..

Have a friend in that situation now, I feel sorry for him.. He just served her for joint custody.. He's a solid stand up guy and just wants to see his kid and be a part of his life.. The mother wants him gone but loves that child support check of $1200 coming in every month plus day care costs..

Worst part is she lives out of State now and moved hoping that would deter my buddy from seeing his son.. He recently called an Attorney to begin the process to see his son, $5000 to date and growing are the legal fees.....

                            BECAREFUL is right!!
