My mom teaches algebra & calculus, so I was force fed math all my life. Didn't really like it though, I had to be good at it. I've gone over poker hands and other odds with her numerous times back when I played a lot. She doesn't care because she knows my risk of ruin is 0. I've tried to get her to play poker or blackjack but she won't put time into it. Just plays gin rummy or something locally. Still teaches.

Makes sense. Bad thing for me was that I won a ton of money playing poker and betting sports and even playing blackjack right when I started first gambling. So I am conditioned to think I can win like that again.
