#37James has never been a volume shooter so to bring up this stat is interesting. Yes his percentage isn't good. If he had Irving and Love on the floor he wouldn't be shooting near as much though. They accounted for 38 points a game. Who is picking up all that slack out of who's left on the floor for Cle?Comment -

#40His running mate in this series isn't Scottie Pippen, or Shaquille O'Neal, or Tony Parker, it's some Australian guy no one has ever heard of, named Delly. Did I mention he's white?
Drop the hate, lakerboy. You're turning into one of your very own thread dwellers.
Lebron is putting up historic numbers. Enjoy it. Quit interrogating it.
God bless you.

#42This thread is the real choke job.
The Cavs were a 2-1 underdog before the series even started. Then, after a heartbreaking loss in game one, compounded by a series ending injury to the best player on the team not named Lebron, everyone and their mom had written the ending to this year's Finals, and it had Golden State hoisting the trophy with little resistance along the way.
This team could have easily folded after game one, faced with the adversity of losing their second All-Star, and having to contend with a more talented team, with a far deeper bench, who happened to also have home court advantage.
But that obviously hasn't happened... What has happened is that Lebron has put this motley crew on his back and almost single-handedly willed this team to two straight victories. Sure, he's had some help from role players along the way, but there's no guarantee from game to game what he'll get from whom, thus we've seen the most aggressive Lebron James we've ever seen in a Finals.
The results have been staggering, as well as historic. James' stat lines from the first three games are as follows:
(Pts-Reb-Ast)
Game 1) 44-8-6
Game 2) 39-16-11
Game 3) 40-12-8
How does someone honestly find fault with that? The guy goes out and lays it all on the line, barely even stopping to catch his breath on the bench, and rallies a group of faceless players with either zero or minimal playoff experience, leading them to a 2-1 series lead against a team they have no business beating... and in doing so, averages 41 points, 12 rebounds, and 8.3 assists in three games.
I don't wanna hear about his FG percentage. Lebron haters will grasp at anything to preach their gospel and defend their position. Bottom line is, Lebron is doing whatever it takes to win... this is not a beauty contest. He doesn't have the luxury of allowing his teammates to pour in buckets. There's no Kevin Love to dish the rock to, or Kyrie Irving to create off the dribble. Lebron simply can't be deferential with this group of guys, or pick his spots as a scorer, which would undoubtedly elevate his efficiency, but more than likely result in losses. Lebron has to score, score, rebound, and score some more... not mention lead his team in assists all the while.
Lebron James could very well be the 2nd player in Finals history to win MVP as a member of the losing team, if they do in fact lose this series. It would no way be a choke job. The Cavs are playing with house money right now and as long as James is on the court, there's reason to believe that anything is possible. Subtract James from the equation and this current lineup would be be hard-pressed just to stay out of the NBA cellar. With James, they've won 2/3 games against a team that some were speculating was amongst the greatest of all time.
Relinquishing a 2-1 lead in any best of 7 series is hardly a choke, but given the context of this series, making such an assertion is asinine. The truth is, most people still expect Golden State to win it.
Lakerboy, I hope you're just baiting people with this ludicrous premise, because if not, then you're a complete moron whose knowledge of the sport has taken a severe blow with this post.Last edited by Eddy Munny; 06-11-15, 07:05 PM.Comment -

#50If LeBron win this series it makes up for his 2011 embarrassment.
So that puts him at 3-3 then right?
Either way I still like Warriors in 7.Comment -

#54Well, James isn't competing in golf, tennis, or bowling... basketball still is and will always be a team sport, no matter how big a dent that puts in your "James is a joke" thesis, or whatever it is you're trying to accomplish in this thread.

#55James is lucky he isn't 1-4 in the Finals.
Jordan never came close to losing in the finals. All these people that think James is the GOAT make me feel old BC the obviously didn't watch Jordan.
James is a great player but let's see how the rest of his career pans out.
He assembled an all-star team and went 2-2 in the finals. Not as impressive as what Jordan did.
An interesting stat so far this series. James has missed more shots than Curry has attempted.Comment -

#68Fukk shooting percentage. I already addressed that. James is the only consistent offensive threat for Cleveland. If he was shooting 56% but losing the series, that would be your angle, so what difference does it make? His mere presence has allowed Matthew fukking Dellavedova to become a folk hero. I'd like to see Jordan win a Finals with Dellavedova. Jordan wouldn't even let him touch the ball. He might score 60, but he'd lose his ass in the process.
