Who’s pitching for Coastal game 1. Wondering if the ace is on the hill.

Hi, Chief. GL to us on the Chants ticket.

My expected CCU starting pitchers:
*Gm 1: Flukey
*Gm 2: Morrison
*Gm 3: Eikhoff (and All Hands on-deck)

...I don't really like the Chant bullpen.
...Lynch looks like the only guy they can rely on versus SEC bats.
...I personally can't see CCU winning any game where the starter doesn't go 6+ innings.
...See if my starter projections are accurate. Morrison is the ace and the guy that they'll be banking on.

I don't have any inside-info. My opinion is based on:
*Flukey pitching b4 Morrison.
*Gm2 ensuring that Morrison will get one start.
...The games are scheduled for SAT/SUN. So, I don't think there's any way Morrison gets more than one more appearance.
...I do expect that to be the rotation. Coach may expect a shorter outing for Flukey. Can ride his horse (Morrison) as long as possible in Gm2.

I don't see a Best of 3 series price at my book. Will post a few comments:

*As much as I was on the Chant train early, I think they're now over-priced.
...Chants are on a long win-streak. So easy to back now. Per usual, people are late to the party.
...Most of those games were versus a Mid-Major schedule. Chants too strong for that level of opposition.
...If you go back to the early season, Coastal did get boat-raced by a few ACC/SEC opponents.
...Depth of roster should favor LSU over a 3-game series. In particular, I'd expect the LSU bats to feast on the Coastal bullpen once they get past Lynch.
...I think Coastal is capable of splitting the first two games. But it's hard to get to the finish line.
...Look at last year's Final as an example. Tex A&M had good players, but TENN had the superior roster. It adds up over time.
...I don't see a current series price. I would have expected LSU to be a heavier favorite for Game One. In the modern NIL landscape, these top SEC teams are no joke.

Just my opinion. GL to anyone in action.

Hi, str. I see the -165 you posted. That makes sense. LSU may have taken some $$ if Anderson was confirmed as the starter.

Not sure about the 2nd line. Typo? I think the total is 8.5.

Figures to be a well-pitched game. Flukey has an excellent K/BB ratio. But Anderson may be even better.

For Game 1 of the College World Series Final against Coastal Carolina, LSU is expected to start sophomore left-handed pitcher
Kade Anderson.


Anderson is considered LSU's ace and has been dominant throughout the season. He boasts an impressive 11-1 record with a 3.44 ERA and leads the nation with 170 strikeouts. He also ranks seventh nationally in strikeouts per nine innings and 14th in strikeout-to-walk ratio.



This will be his first start since LSU's College World Series opener against Arkansas, giving him a full week of rest.



Should a Game 2 be necessary, LSU Wire projects that Anthony Eyanson will get the start for LSU.

...This actually makes sense to me. Going to be VERY hard to beat Anderson.
...Flukey gives CCU a chance. But LSU will probably get to the bullpen.
...Morrison will expected to go deep in Game 2. Chants probably need to win that game to win series.
...Goal should be to be live going into Game 3. At that point, you'd have Eikhoff to start. All-hands on-deck to finish it off.
...Makes perfect sense to me. So, my original starter list looks to be coming to fruition.

You aren't joking on the juice. Wow, Vig on 'roids. I've seen this in the tier-two sports. 30-cents or 40-cents, what does it matter if people will bet it?

My Gm1 line was 20-cent juice when I bet it. Felt like I was getting a discount.

...Flukey was valiant in defeat. Chants lose but maybe gained some confidence going into SUN.

GL, Chief. I can't knock that play. A few comments:
1) Morrison is undefeated. I believe CCU is 16-2 in games that Morrison started this season.
2) CCU might feel like they let one get away. They got five Walks against Anderson. Had baserunners, went dry with RISP.
3) I do think the class-edge is noteworthy in this matchup. LSU has quality and depth. In particular, the LSU defense is getting acclaim. CCU HC Schnall noted that LSU's ytd Fielding rate is > .980. The 3B Braswell is a converted shortstop, and Braswell made some great DEF plays in Game One.

Per usual, GL to anyone in action. I'll be rooting for our CCU +650 ticket. Hope the Chants can extend the series to Game 3.
