So what's it's biggest advantage? Your generally a decent person and this allows you to step outside yourself and become a complete jerk? You want success and cred posting plays so you create a seperate poster that's always on the opposite? You create an alter ego to have an imaginary rival?

I mean if it were a dating site I would understand better. One personality trying to get the other personality laid. just not sure what purpose it would serve on a sports forum.

Any ideas or confessions?

There are no ghosts at SBR. By suggesting their existence you are putting mods at jeopardy and in lieu of recent firings you are attracting unwanted attention from angry employees.

Seems if he can this would be taking advantage of the system which would naturally encourage some to do it but seem to also be a reason to reject multiple accounts all together.

Was going to mention this as a reason you omitted from your original list of why someone may ghost. Here are a couple more reasons, based purely on my experiences at message boards since 1998.

1) Increasing one's odds in contests.

2) To circumvent an account being restricted or banned.

3) You mentioned having an imaginary rival, but I've also seen ghost accounts that went after your real rival without jeopardizing your real account.
