Now they're stuck with an injury riddled player who has no motivation to play in the regular season. Same thing with Kawhi Leonard.
Salud, klemo. The amount of $$ burnt on top-players is amazing:

*I'm not the biggest Lebron fan. But I have to credit him for being a pro. Supposedly spends $1.00Mill per year just on his personal conditioning (beyond anything from the team).
*Embiid is painful to watch @ the end of a season. How is that going to change?
*Leonard is another story. How much $$ has that guy STOLEN? Can't perform, if you're always banged-up.
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?

Defense on a daily basis is ignored in todays NBA. As I'ved said many times here, the NBA is a "Wait til April" Playoffs and who can and will play D. The C's are the perfect example. During the reg season, beatable by anyone. Wake me when collectively they start playing D. Best 2 D guards in the NBA!!!

            They got 3 - 1st rounders and 3 - 2nd rounders.

            1st Rounders: Char 2025, Spurs 2027 and Minn 2031
2nd Rounders: Chi 2025, Den 2028 and get back a 2028 pick that they previously traded.

The biggest win for Lakers isn't even Doncic. It's ridding themselves of Lebron/Klutch influence

I think you're right about the Celtics. As much as I'd like to see the Cavs up-end the Celtics, I have to see it.

Playoff Celtics does not = Regular Season Celtics. I think that's how they won last year actually. Mazzulla saw how big of a lead they had. They rotated off-days. Team was very fresh when they played the Mavs (who were exhausted).

If Porzingis can stay healthy and give 100 percent for 32 minutes a game in the playoffs, I think they'd be unstoppable.
Call me nuts, but I think Zinger is a top five center.

                    That team is loaded.
Holiday is a consummate professional; he's still an elite defender and distributer that doesn't give a shit about numbers.
Derrick White is an elite three-point artist, I've seen him go on runs that would make Klay Thompson blush.
And Pritchard, the guard off the bench can shoot lights out as well.

Finals MVP Jaylen Brown I believe is the best SF in the game.
Tatum and Zinger are an amazing pivot tandem.
Kornet, the forward off the bench is not afraid to get dirty down low.
Father time has caught up to old man Al, but know this, Horford can still give you 20 minutes of production off the bench.
How professional is Al Horford, he's the man the entire locker room respects, and when he speaks, everybody shuts up and listens to.

This team is stacked, the best 1-8 rotation in the NBA, and you'd be a hard sell if you tell me otherwise.
Coach Mazz is giving the bench plenty of run this regular season as well, it's a three-month prep for the postseason.

What I love most about this team is they are a collection of pros, no flopping, zero, or next to zero whining and bitching about calls...
They're treating the regular season as a postseason prep, I think they're going to be unstoppable, a nightmare matchup for most NBA caliber teams.

Celtics have the secret sauce. They have multiple players that can attack the rim and each of them can guard 1-5. They exploited Luka in the finals. Constantly attacking him one on one and they turned him into a turnstile. He couldn’t stay in front of anyone. Luka is the worst on ball defender in the league. He’s not winning anything until he improves his defense.

The Charlotte one is protected. It will convey 2 2nd rounders next year. So 5 2nd rounders and a couple 1sts in the 20s range ...1 more than I thought actually, but not a good return. Lavine is not a great get -Bulls have been trying to shift him for years. Bad contract, bad attitude, poor defense, poor ball skills (for a guard).

Kings should be going bigger. Get Sabonis some help up front. Someone like PJ Washington.

                            Mavs didn't want to pay.

Nico and Pelinka were close from Kobe - Pelinka his agent and Harrison worked at Nike so these guys had the ultimate back channel. Could the Mavs had gotten more in an open bidding? Sure, but they clearly saw AD as the guy they wanted so they made the money work and got the deal done.

Like asiagambler said the biggest win is de-coupling from Klutch and sending the message that the Lakers are not a Klutch Sports entity.

The Lakers still have some good defensive players but this league is a scoring contest/3 point exhibition. It's essentially position-less basketball. They have been angling for Valančiūnas for a few years now so don't be surprised if that happens.

This is not a win now deal for the Lakers although they might surprise this year. This is about the legacy of one of the great franchises in sports that somehow (AGAIN) just acquired a top 3 player in his mid 20's.

Lakers don't need to defend their position lol. Doncic is the reason they made the trade. No other reason necessary.

Mavs on the other hand have lost 800,000 followers on instagram. Gone from 5.3mil to 4.5mil since the trade
