I like Pete, but this is impossible. Chances of this working out?

          John Madden wasn't available?
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?

I think Pete is a great coach, 5-7 years ago but he’s 73 now. Once you even get this rebuild up and going he will be 76-77. It’s just not a great play. It’s a splash hire to feed the fans a little something but the roster stinks, QB position doesn’t exist, your stadium is mostly the away teams stadium and it’s another reaching into the past situation for the Raiders. The owner is the problem at this point.

That's a good summary, MJ. I do wonder about the Owner.

An owner has to be good at choosing key personnel. Then you step away and let them do their job. Raiders do appear to be a mess.

Yup, this is nothing but a waste. When you reached 70 years old, you need to retire. There’s no QB and he would need to rebuild. Horrible decision. They would’ve been better off getting Gruden and face the backlash than hiring this old man.

This is am in between hire. He will bring structure and he is not as old as his age. Never been a fan of him but he wins. He can lay the foundation for the next guy.

I don’t know buddy. I don’t trust ownership to even consider bringing in the right players. I do agree that Pete wins. I also know it can’t be worse. Just not sure the foundation will be intact.

naw man I don't buy it. You've seen Carroll. He's full of energy. He may be 70 but you wouldn't know it. Yes when you get up there in age, there will be a time where you will need to retire or stop doing some of the things you used to do. We all know this. It comes down to the individual. Carroll's age is irrelevant. He's comparable to a 40-50 year old.

They do need a QB and much more. Let's see what he given to work with.

He's a great coach like you said but the ownership is the problem, like you said. The owner has been the problem for years. The whole Gruden thing was ridiculous. Get Pete the right players and they will win games.

no doubt. I am sure coaching as long as he's been, there a dozens of calls, hundreds, he'd want back. That one just happened to be in the biggest game you could play in.

If it worked, it would have been something like ... "everyone was expecting the Hawks to hand it off to Lynch. What a call!. Seattle wins!"

I was planning on betting on championship games and Super Bowl, but now skipping those and save my money to wager everything on the win totals for Raiders next season. There’s not an available QB around that’s going save Carroll and Raiders from a horrible season that’s coming.
