Do these deals ever work out? Good for the Mets. What does this say about the Yankees?

That would equate to being paid $27,000 per day, every day from birth until death, if you lasted 80 years.

                    Soooo,
                    10 years from now they're gonna pay him 50 million dollars to hit .212, 3 home runs, 28 rbi's, and 135k's and 50 gidp's?

Mets are gonna Mets this thing, aren't they?

                      Totally absurd.

The guy can only help you hitting and is below replacement level on defense and the basepaths.

They would have been better off keeping Pete Alonso and using the extra ~$500 million elsewhere.

That was my same thought process. I can't say anything though. My teams ownership is eventually going to let Paul Skenes walk for a bag of chips just like they did with Gerrit Cole. I would post the moves from that trade but this is a Mets thread. I would be excited if I was a Met fan today no doubt about it.

$765 million DH within a few years

Ohtani and many others are underpaid now.

The Royals are very happy that they locked up Witt Jr before this.

If they win a WS it is not. Just can't see that franchise ever wining it in my lifetime. Cohen has been spending like a mfer and it hasn't resulted in anything.

Is this the 2.0 version of Trout and Ohtani for Soto and Lindor? We know how this ends.

Guy brought up the Tom Foolery with Trout? My new fave poster. I told you guys 6-7 years ago Trout was VASTLY overrated. Guy had a few good regular seasons. SO WHAT?

He is literally half the player Ohtani is. The fact he's getting more money shows just because you are a billionaire, it doesn't mean you are smart.
