      He was duly fired.

Three years of consistently under prepared teams is not Aaron Rodgers fault. As a matter of fact, he should have been canned minutes after saying Rodgers would need to dumb down his cadence for the Jet offense (Rodgers then openly asked "how about holding players accountable?")

This is what Saleh oversees on the field ... resembles a sloppy HS team than an NFL offense - almost defies belief.

They had 14/15 unsuccessful run plays (2 yards or less) vs. the Vikings ... in close quarters #84 overtly whiffed his block in four of those plays. Observe...

Nick Sirianni is next if the Eagles lose at home to the Browns on Sunday. Although a lot of it is not his fault. Eagles released Devin White yesterday after signing him to a $7.5 million/1 yr deal in the offseason. Then they signed Bryce Huff, a backup LB from the Jets on a 55 mil deal and he has a total of 1 tackle through 4 games. Roseman makes great financial deals but he's not a talent guy.

After Week 3 the Jets and Eagles should have repatriated Reddick and Huff to their old teams AND swapped head coaches.

Can't see it happening, but if it did Giant fans would leap from skyscrapers. They've been seriously talking about the return of Belichick for 20 years now.

                        Next Jets HC Odds

                        Odds Source: Borgata
                        Content Source: The Athletic

                        Ben Johnson +250

Gable currently has Ben Johnson as his favorite to be the Jets’ next head coach if the team moves on from Ulbrich.
“Johnson was the most coveted of all the coordinators out there last offseason and will be highly wanted again this offseason,” Gable said. “Any team that has a coaching vacancy and isn’t looking at Johnson needs to really go under the microscope. If anyone can open up the Jets offense, it’s him.”

                        Mike Vrabel +400

“He is an extremely talented coach who won’t be sitting at home next season,” Gable said. “Would he be a good fit for Rodgers? We know he would be able to coach this impressive defense up.”

                        Bobby Slowik +450

“Slowik is another talented offensive coordinator who will be on the radar of many teams looking for a head coach this offseason,” Gable said. “He’s done some great things with C.J. Stroud and could do the same for this Jets offense.”

                        Jeff Ulbrich +500
“We will see if he can get this team inspired to play up to expectations,” Gable said. “I still have a lot of questions offensively. Either way, I make him 5/1 to be named permanent coach, but a lot would have to go right for him the remainder of the season.”

                        Bill Belichick +850

“He still would like to get one more crack at it, but it’s just a matter of finding the right fit,” Gable said. “It would be interesting to see him getting back into the same division and taking on the Patriots as a bit of revenge on Robert Kraft.”

As Robert Saleh was planning to do, Jeff Ulbrich will demote Nathaniel Hackett. The second-year Jets offensive coordinator will no longer carry play-calling responsibilities.

Instead, quarterbacks coach and pass-game coordinator Todd Downing will take over. Ulbrich announced this change Thursday morning, and Hackett’s stock continues to nosedive in the years since his Packers OC tenure. This will be Downing’s third chance at calling plays for a team, as he did so as Raiders OC and Titans OC. Ulbrich will remain the Jets’ defensive play-caller.

I don't see Johnson going to the Jets as he will have a lot of options.

nasher, why would someone with many options choose the Jets?

My guess is they will hire someone with no other or very few options or a 1st time head coach. The organization is a mess from the top down.

Vrabel is a defensive minded coach, thinks like a linebacker and the Jets don't need defense. and, from the sources I trust say Vrabel pissed some people off in Tennessee.

Agreed, Vrabel would be a good fit as his teams play a style that would fit in NY.
Seems like he has been blackballed a bit so maybe he won't have many head coaching options? That could be a recipe for him becoming their HC.

I'd be stunned if Johnson took the job...I'd honestly rather stay at Detroit as the OC than go to the Jets as HC.

Saleh works for the Packers now. At practice today.

Just over two weeks after being fired by the Jets, Robert Saleh was on the Packers' practice field Wednesday in a new role.

I agree. And his use of seeing the GB offense and then explaining to the offensive side what the defense will most likely do and best of all, the weaknesses in what the defense will have in that set, makes him a real asset IMO.

It’s a smart move. Great defensive mind and can only be a positive.

                                                  It's none of the above:

It was the patch he was wearing.
